Sports journalism and storytelling lost a great today, with the passing of Frank Deford. Frank provided sports fans and non-sports decades of eloquent literary and verbal tapestries with his articles in Sports lllustrated, 18 books, and his 37 years of doing segments on NPR. We also need to remember the wonderful and ill-fated daily sports newspaper, The National.
