Could I ask who Revenn and Fred are? I am still very new hello! ouo ❤

TC: V Oh yes! Please! I enjoy talking about them! Nobodys asked about them yet V

TC: V Revenn! I love Revenn so much! You might say that they are my wiggler! I was doing some work in the forest when they poked me for attention making those cute lil ducky noises they make hehe V

TC: V They are surprisingly self reliant and strong for their age and technically I dont think they really need me but they have been following me around and started living with me when they arent out on their lil adventures. I didnt adopt them into my hive as much as they adopted themselves into it! But I love them so very much! And Im very very happy to watch them grow up V

TC: V Revenn isnt very talkative but we understand each other just as well. Their expressions are the cutest and they can be a little clingy with me but I dont mind. They also really love sleeping with me and I just cant say no hehe... They arent currently here though... V

TC: V Fred on the other hand or to be more precise Fredericks is an invasive alien plant species that attempted to take root here. Well as it turns out it looks like this planet was not suited to her brand of self propagation. She is supposed to be a deadly all consuming species but this entire planet is full of similar and by far more dangerous plants. And hey it turns out that nutrition is kinda hard to come by and digest too so... yeah... V

TC: V I found Fred when she was almost completely wilted and took pity on her. She grew up pretty okay with my help and in time I realized that Fred can talk oh boy does she talk and weve kind of become... roommates of sorts? We talk and I entertain her best I can though Im currently trying to teach her to read so she doesnt get as bored. She kinda needs me to survive on our planet but shes been very amicable to my help and in turn helps out around the hive V

TC: V Oh! Sorry for rambling! I just wanted to share some basics I guess? Wait! I have this picture with all three of us together! Let me show you! Should speak a lil for itself! V

Math Bass in ‘Throwback Jack’ at Fredericks & Freiser

In Fredericks & Freiser Gallery’s group show homage to painter John Wesley’s erotically charged Pop aesthetic, Math Bass presents a painting from her ‘Newz!’ series in which pared down, ambiguous signs connect her paintings to Wesley’s. When a similar painting was installed as a mural in the lobby of the Hammer Museum last fall, the black shape could be read as a one-sleeved shirt. Here, a dog emerges to play with the pink ball and extended foot. (On view in Chelsea through July 26th). Math Bass, Newz!, gouache on canvas, 30h x 70s inches, 2019.
