The overriding verse though is "Vengence is mine sayeth the Lord." If God does consider homosexuality a sin (I believe he does), then let him do the punishing.

The Hebrew scriptures had extensive lists of crimes and punishments up to and including death. These were intended to be carried out and were. They were laws for a nation. Homosexuality got the death penalty, right alongside murder.
Make no mistake, at one point the Christian god expected his human servants to kill gay people, and it appears that he will start doing it himself at some point.
