I do not have a specific walking plan nor any expectation of what I may encounter in the walk. I follow the path in front of me, where ever it may lead me. Sometimes a path takes me to a dead end and then I back-track. Other times the path ahead is an endless loop and I may end up walking in circles. When I see something interesting I may go off-track like climbing up a hill clearing to see what lies in front of a power transmission tower. That's what I call free walking.

Not all trails are well patronised by people. The secluded ones are along the fringes of the park, away from the popular spots,  usually on steep terrain and they cut through dense forests.  Even in the day time due to the thick forest cover filtering some of the daylight and the silence, the surrounding can be quiet eerie especially when you are all alone in the forest. This particular steep trail leads to a dead end. I don't know how many kilometers that I have walked the trails. All I know is that by the time I emerged from the forest into the popular lake area I have spent more than 2 hours of non-stop trekking covering most if not all the trails in the park.
