Oh my goodness! Had an amazing time this morning with the 1st graders at Audubon Elementary for their "We are 'lit'-erate: A Black History Read-Aloud Event." These eagles were very engaged as I read "Freedom Schools, Yes!" We had a great discussion about the importance of education, and they learned about a not-so-distant time in our nation when not everyone had access to a school. The @southsideartsdistrict @chilifest_ was insane!!! We didn’t get to try everyone’s chili but @roastedbethlehem and Soto Santi’s were delicious! We already cannot wait for next year as we’re already planning an event but we did create chili perler art and out of the bunch we made, we’re down to six left!!
