Editors Who Treat Writers Like Their Time is Worthless

i really should write a “just checking in!” email to one of the studios i work at that i haven’t been to in a while, but my anxiety has been (and continues to) tell me that they all hate me and i did something wrong and they’re actively choosing not to bring me in, instead of other very plausible reasons. and part of me is scared if i ask about if they’ll be needing me in the new year — which seems a reasonable thing to ask! — that i’m gonna get what equates to a “thanks, but no thanks” email. and that’s gonna crush me.
so instead? i just continue to marinate in anxiety.
feeling like i’m being sneakily ousted at one studio, and stupidly stressed about starting at a new one.
great combo. not at all giving me headaches, or keeping me on the verge of tears, or making me wish i had someone to just snuggle me and play with my hair and tell me it’s ok, and that i’m gonna be ok.
freelancing and anxiety / low self-esteem is a really bad combo. i need a full-time gig, man. jfc.
