idea from my beautiful brain based on nothing but vibes and yet is making me laugh so hard: personally I am picturing that Freyja will see herself as the heroine of her own romantic adventure novel who has to rightfully reclaim her place as a member of the House of Fehujar whilst being caught up in a tumultuous love triangle between her straight-laced superior with a wild side and the sky-eyed wind rider who’s eyes are always to the horizon, meanwhile she is truly so low down on the list of Max and Olethra’s priorities
youre all ignoring the most important part of next weeks preview... FREYJA GETS TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING!!!!
The torture of your favorite character being forgotten in the narrative (Freyja)
Overanalyzing here but the fact that Freyja’s first choice of weapon is axe and hand cannon but carries a sword and shield is so interesting to me
Like, yes, clearly a continuity error between Brennan’s statement and the official art but the implications
She was captured at Ramansu at the start of the battle, and presumably had her weapons taken away from her. The stone constructs wouldn’t bother to stop to hand her back her own, so she had to grab some, most likely from the room Torse was guarding
Who did she take the weapons from? A friend? A family member? Someone she didn’t know very well but who carried a weapon she could wield comfortably? Did she stop to identify the body before she grabbed them, or did she make sure she couldn’t recognize her kinsman’s corpse?
She’s released from Ramansu by strangers, who only care to release her to get papers about someone she doesn’t care about. She’s standing in a room filled with rotting corpses of her friends and colleagues- people she knew, not a faceless environmental story- talking to the very creature that killed them. That would have killed her without a second thought, too. She can’t be defenseless again. There’s a sword she can wield, clutched in the hands of someone she once laughed and joked around with. She follows the crew, an ill fitting weapon in her hand and a bravado she doesn’t feel. It’s not her first choice, not something she picks off the top of her head, but it doesn’t matter.
She won’t be defenseless. Not again.
A new era or something I don’t even care . Whatever (I sobbed my eyes out in the finale) ((WIP))
Her loser swag and whimsical demeanor have captivated me I fear

Post canon Freyja outfit bc she deserves self-expression and whimsy

(I like to call this outfit “got promoted to Vice President of the Gotch Show”)
