I have mixed feelings about A Frozen Heart book. Like, it was life changing book back in 2019, made me go long way back to loving Hans, I actually knew his backstory and motivations from it, I grewn to LOVE HANS AGAIN, because of that book and my 2020 F3 fanfic... but that book isn't actually that good as most Hans fans see it... It has many incosistencies, like once Hans is his real self, caring about Elsa, Anna and trying to be a hero to get out of the fucking abuse, and one page later "He wAntS tO chOke ElSa" and acts like a selfish rude guy... yes, AFH gave us perspective for a real Hans, in what hell he was forced to live in 20+ years, and that's a best thing about it... and also this books covers a topics Disney usually doesn't does in the movies, or even books, especially the Frozen franchise ones. As the first book ever made for adults based on the movie, it was insane, and very, very deeply touching, but I think some things there should be done better, like, Lars being actually silent manipulator to Hans, as this mf is, and showing it openly, or more Hans overall, shown in the light we saw him at the beginning of the book... how should I believe he changes sides in a split of A SENTENCE in this book? AFH is really good covering Hans backstory and his struggles, but very bad at being brave and show who Hans REALLY IS, HIS FULL PERSONALITY + AFH ignores Helsa for baiting Hans x Anna fans.... LIKE THIS BOOKS WANTS US TO BELIEVE, THAT HANS LOVED ANNA, NOT ELSA? That's a hipocrysy... and imo AFH should be 100% Hans book, not the Frozen retelling with 99% time focused on Anna... like, WHY THEY WERE SO AFRAID OF GIVING HANS FULL STORY WHEN THEY HAD WHOLE BACKSTORY MADE FOR HIM? AND THEY GAVE IT ONLY 4 CHAPTERS???? I appreciate the efforts, but AFH is still, wasted potential and kind of shit, when I look at it... and the ending, I REMEMBER HOW STRESSED I WAS WHILE READING ABOUT HANS GOING BACK TO THE LITERALL HELL ON EARTH... THAT WAS MY FIRST STRESS LIKE THAT READING THE BOOK, AND I WAS ONLY 13...

AFH simply could be more brave, and I really hope, that if Hans will get some new content in the franchise, maybe even besides of F3/4 earlier, his story will be more accurate and him focused, than being a simple another retelling of a movie. But there is hope that the next Frozen books won't be retellings, because all the post F2 books now are 100% original (I sound like delulu 2016 Helsa fan I know, I am in this era still). So, I just want to see more Hans, ok? I miss him every day, I hope for maybe 5 seconds of cameo in Winter Festival short, if we ever will discover will it be actually released, because I just want to see him after a year of waiting (OUAS was a blessing for me)

It must be loud, Anna and Elsa's love

I see rather often Anna's love being praised above all others. It should be praised. But not above. There's this notion that the best love, that the strongest one is always loud, always explosive, like the kind of spectacle that looks nothing like what an introvert or neurodivergent person usually does.

The extrovert love, easy to understand, easy to read, that follows the cultural romantic notions is the only love held high. And this is something I hoped people would've seen past, mainly after the stories we got.

Elsa can't be or do what Anna does socially. Not even with her sister. Because Elsa's love language is built in broken cold pieces that do not always stay together but exist nonetheless.

Yes, her love is uncomfortable, it looks distant and so very quiet. Because of this, it looks like little love. Something of no worth. Too different, lacking in bright colors, lacking in the neurotypical language, so it must be set aside as the lesser love.

Ironically enough, Elsa agrees. Her love is the lesser one. Because it's broken, it's pointy, it's difficult to detangle, and takes a little bit more effort to see. She too was raised in a world of loud love. In a world where her natural ways are frowned upon. Her pain and her traumas met the place where she held love and it too affected it beyond recognition.

The first time I watched Frozen I wondered: why haven't Elsa's sacrifice counted as an act of true love? I read some people explaining that it was because it was tainted by fear, but to me, such an explanation never felt right. It put the blame on that child again, it put aside her love as the lesser one, the "not sufficient". I like to believe that the act of true love in the first movie should've been from Anna all along, not from someone else. Anna saved herself, all the while saving her sister. She chose her sister, ALSO making a sacrifice. Both did their best to protect each other, both were scared that the other would hurt at some point, both kinds of love are important.

Elsa does deserve Anna.

Elsa, in all of her different, silent, introspective way to love, deserves every ounce of loud, sparkly, and extroverted love Anna gives her. And Anna agrees.

Has anyone ever thought about how different Frozen would have been if Anna and Elsa weren't sisters? Think about this, Elsa is Arendelle's princess but Anna is Gerda's granddaughter (stay with me on this), and since they were very young they have been very close friends... until the accident. Everything else develops the same, Anna is still in the castle, working there, and still trying to contact her best friend. Until the day of the coronation, where she infiltrates as a guest instead of being one of the servants as she has been educated. There they see each other again and Elsa's geyness cannot be controlled, neither can her powers... and the rest of the movie is the same.

Their chemistry could not be denied.

Frozen may try to fool you into thinking Elsa wasn’t the villain but she was. Hans didn’t freeze Anna’s heart that was Elsa he just had to let her die it wasn’t nice but he wasn’t the reason she was dying. He was like an accessory to accidental manslaughter. And no this post isn’t to demonize Elsa it’s to point out a reason to why Hans sucked as a bad guy Elsa did his dirty work for him he just got lucky the girl was unstable with her emotions and ended up blasting her sister. All he did was hold up a sword, Jafar Scar, Frollo even Mother Gothel will always be better villians than him heck even the guy from Princess and the Frog got a cool song Hans didn’t even get that Frozen 2 needs to have a better villians Disney movies aren’t the same without badass villians

I had some free time, for the first time in (forever) months, so I decided to watch my comfort movie, F1. As I still had a few more minutes I started F2.

Couldn't finish it. I'm still salty. Can't help it.

There's nothing special about it.

The writers/producers broke the mold with F1, and with F2 they put it back together.

PSA about all things FROZEN

Look, peeps ...

After seeing the latest Instagrams from the cast of Frozen the Musical, especially Patti Murin, but not limited to her, can I say something crazy?

When Frozen the movie came out and Disney discovered they had lightning in a bottle, they began to milk the cash cow with both hands and got sneered at for it. And they are a soul less corporation.

But soul less corporations are made up of people, and the people make a huge difference.

I’m not going to pretend that Corporate Disney is made up of angels dedicated to doing good in the world.

But as a fandom, can we look on in awe at the people associated with the property we are fans of and realize how lucky we are?

Start with the original creative team: Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee, the Anderson-Lopez team (BOBBY is an Anderson-Lopez, dammit! LOL). Then the cast, sweeties all! Idina, Kristin, Jonathan...

Now look at that same original creative team going on to the musical.

And the new cast. My god, the new cast. Caissie Levy is the perfect Elsa. Go read the piece about her NYC apartment in the New York Times.

Patti Murin is ... awe inspiring. She is the bravest of the brave, the perfect Princess Anna, willing to bare her soul to the world and share her vulnerabilities and keep moving forward.

Jelani Alladin. You KNOW he’s got to have taken heat from the haters who insist on ‘historical accuracy’ in a fantasy property. But he’s out there smiling on the rope line at the stage door, knowing he’s a role model.

And Aisha Jackson...her, too. An understudy. Getting a phone call late in the day that says, “Get dressed, you’re on tonight.” And sharing that joy with a girl who wants a princess to look like her.

Can we just appreciate how wonderful these people are? And how for some unknown reason, the fairy tale about a misunderstood girl with magic and a loving sister has managed to attract people to it that are such amazing, magnificent, talented, flawed and courageous human beings?

I have no doubt that Frozen 2 will continue this astonishing feat.
