There weren’t many people who could rival Dahlia’s love for potions but Severus did. She knew him from the club and the two clicked almost immediately — something that rarely happened in her world. It’s as if she knew just how much the subject meant to him. It drew her to him. At the same time she wanted to be better than him. She was a year younger but just as adept.

The two often spent time outside club hours discussing potions, the ingredients, what could be made and what they’ve made themselves — to an extent anyway; Dahlia was protective of her achievements. They also dabbled together, seeing what they could create.

Dahlia was in the potions classroom awaiting her friend, looking over what the room had to offer. When she heard the door open she offered an almost playful, “it’s about time.”
