Bonaparte’s Retreat - Ale Möller & Aly Bain

from what i understand this is an old tune that has been adapted over time, with the most recent and memorable incarnation as a bluegrass fiddle tune.

But even when played as part of Aaron Copland’s “Hoe-down”, it always struck me as a joyful tune. The joy is palpable in this bluegrass incarnation.  You can feel the farm and the hills, the sun shining down, the joy in hard work that gives you meaning, and gathering to celebrate with friends and family.

The af Chapman is a fully rigged ship built in 1888. Early on she was used as a training ship, but has become a permanently docked hostel and local landmark of Stockholm since 1949.
