#Repost @drjohnrusin with @repostapp ・・・ The key to building a strong core that is also ripped to shreds is by dominating stability when challenged in many different directions and angles. The core was designed to function synergistically with the shoulder and hip complexes to transmit force powerfully. What it wasn't really designed to do is be forced into unnatural painful positions like terminal end ranges and challenged by load. Though this point has been preached time and time again, it's worth mentioning again. Train the core for improved stability and challenge it with "anti" positions for pain-free function and a sexy six pack. A great example of this is the ab wheel roll out. This anti position links up the pillar nicely and also provides an uncompensated stretch through the lats into the overhead position which is great for dynamic shoulder stability. Execute these with full control and volitional squeezes on every single rep for optimal benefit. These fit great into any program as a finisher or last movement of a back emphasis day. Give them a try, and build your core strength and stability simultaneously, because these two terms are essentially the same thing. #fht #functionalhypertrophytraining #abs #abwheelrollout #sixback #stability
