“I depict the world through a glittery, kaleidoscopic lens. My photos are reflections on memories, the ones that make your heart feel lighter, the ones where you are holding the hand of your best friend, the ones you will never forget. I hold on to these memories and relive them through my photos. Broken hearts and blurry photos and 99 cent dreams: these are photos of my fleeting youth. Teenage personality shows in my work through heavy contrast and loud colors. We are complex but we are bored, we are always changing but we are forever, we feel nothing but we feel it violently. get in touch.
Seventeen. Columbus. “ - About Gabi (http://gabriellebarrera.format.com/)
Gabi is yet another teenage photographer that has influenced me a lot and I have the privilege of having her as a friend. Gabi really knows how to grab the world and put it through a lens to make it her own. She does film and digital photography and also likes to make collages like the one seen above. I’ve learned so much from her and she’s inspired me to try new things with my work. Hana Mendel which I’ve posted about before is also one of her close friends and her mentor. I recommend everyone to visit her website and follow her everywhere!
