Curated Music Library Partners With Gag Order Radio

In March, we announced our Curated Music Library. Designed to give Musicpage songs and artists a gateway for licensing and other opportunities, the library is a database of the best tracks that get submitted to our Music Ops Board. One of our most recent opportunities to come from our Curated Music Library is a new partnership with Gag Order Radio.
We began working with Gag Order on a number of smaller projects last June. Consistent with Musicpage’s mission, the Boston-based streaming service wants to “serve as a launching pad” for artists. Our new partnership allows all of our songs in the Curated Music Library to be streamed on Gag Order Radio for several hours a day Monday through Saturday.
The small staff comprised of Jehue Francois, Dmitriy Monakhov, and Joey B. wants to bring an organic, personal element to their show. “This program,” their website explains, “eliminates ‘synthetic-ism’ out of talk radio and music.” Listeners and guests alike can expect “a more human aspect” to come through.
A service like Musicpage, dedicated to supporting independent artists, was the perfect match for Gag Order. Monakhov says, “It seems like Musicpage is a very popular site with many high quality submissions. We greatly appreciate you. You are able to make things easier for us by choosing the playlist for us which includes many high quality songs and artists.”
Because Musicpage is built specifically for industry pros, we do not generally attract fans looking for new music. This new partnership is an avenue for us to help our artists not just connect with pros, but with fans and new listeners. “We benefit from this partnership by integrating...the fans of the artists,” from Musicpage, Monakhov says. He adds, “The fans have a place to go in order to listen to their favorite ‘up and coming’ musicians while the artists have a platform where they can be heard.”
Only a few weeks in, the partnership has been getting a thumbs up all-around. “The response we have gotten is great so far,” Monakhov celebrates. “There have been listeners contacting us and...a few times the artists have tweeted about the the fact they can be heard on our stream. It would be great if all the artists took the initiative and let their fans know that they can be heard on www.gagordernetwork.com and to have their fans notify us about which artists they prefer,” he says.
