Its almost 12:30 in the morning, so have a rough sketch of a (sortof) re-design of gal since I dont really like her Canon design

personal gal hamdon redesign ! in attempted show style , eh . not sure that work out too well .

have distaste for gender-swap designs that do bare minimum , because this can be genuinely fun exercise in understand character better . canon gal hamdon is one of those bare minimum designs - make hair longer , turn pants into skirt , et voila .

in personal canon , guy is intersex with mild androgen insensitivity - gal is intersex as well , though not quite as sure about variation yet , something to go hand in hand with kelli . either way , intersexuality is something that tend to stir up doubts about gender from outsiders who expect girls to be only one thing , and boys to be only another .

as result , both guy and gal want to prove masculinity and femininity respectively , even if this come at cost of loudly denounce other aspects and act like , frankly , jerks .

some notes :

did not want to draw too much from kelly , but was dead set on ponytail ! kelly's ponytail is high up , but gal's is low and asymmetrical - think that set apart well .

gal's cropped shrug is direct counterpart to guy's baggy hoodie . where guy's hoodie hide chest ( mild androgen insensitivity can lead to breast development ) , gal's shrug frame and highlight . as far as society go , this is seen as " feminine feature " , so this reflect how both handle femininity .

gal's general fashion sense is inspired by personal memories of 2000s-2010s tween girls . rhinestones , ruffles , classic skirt and legging combo , piiiiiiiiiink .

would absolutely love for gal to keep blue , however , this did not make cut . part of visual aspect is that guy is blue ( masculine ) and shezow is pink ( feminine ) and that mean inverse for gal . still , think shades of blue would become subtle way for civilian gal to signal masculinity . ( in mirror to maz's gloves for guy , maybe maizie get really into kandi cuffs ? )

I love love love crossovers, I don’t read them much but in my mind every cartoon with tween superheroes are their own universe with an interconnected world between them all where all the superheroes chill out with each other and be friends. Like currently the biggest ones in my mind is SheZow being friends with Danny Phantom and them having a competitive streak and DudePow being besties with WordGirl and visiting each other’s worlds to hang out and WordGirl is also friends with Maizy and they’re a whole trio

Also SheZow being a fan of Spider-Man, specifically Miles Morales, and having his comics in her world and vise versa for Miles and them both immediately fangirling when they meet each other in the interconnected world

And like, I’ve seen a bunch of crossover ships, but honestly I’m a sucker for crossover friendships, like YES Becky Botsford and Gal Hamdon would gossip with each other and do each others hair and complete an English essay together. And YES Guy Hamdon would let Danny Fenton stay over at his house for a sleepover when he feels too unsafe in his own house around his ghost hunter family. And OF COURSE Guy and Miles would lose their collective shit meeting each other over having each other’s comics. And HELL YEAH they would all totally hang out with each other as a group in superhero form but ✨ disguised ✨ and just do mundane teen friendgroup stuff like going bowling or sneaking into a concert or skating at an abandoned park. God I wanna draw them all so badly.

I think this mostly comes out of my primal urge to take any teen or child in a dangerous or action filled environment and just let them be silly kids, it doesn’t always go well with my other urge to take my favorite characters and put them in Devastating Situations but eh that’s how it goes

Random SheZow confession: One time I briefly headcanoned Gal/DudePow as transfem

Transfem Gal is an interesting take! I’d more usually expect like a transmasc headcanon to match/be the inverse of the popular transfem Guy headcanon. I think usually the obstacle a transfem Gal or transmasc Guy hc would face is that it’d feel narratively cruel to have a trans character be literally forced to take the role of a persona that doesn’t match their gender. Though it can definitely be done (check out the comic “Magical Boy” for this exact premise!)

BORED so here are my thoughts on what pokemon team i think some shezow characters would have!!

IGNORE HOW POORLY FORMATTED THIS IS. I DID NOT KNOW ANY OTHER WAY TO DO IT. and for gal/dudepow. I couldn’t find any pngs (?? right??) of them. so i had to improvise

for guy/gal. the first row is what pokemon they would have in their regular life (?? im blanking on what else to say) and the second row is what pokemon they would have as shezow/dudepow. also shezow = fairy type and dudepow = fighting type. like each of them have one type they represent. they can and do use their other pokemon when they’re shezow/dudepow, but rarely unless the situation really calls for it or it’s an emergency. I decided them to give them mega pokemon. i think that with every generation, they all use different gimmicks to power up their pokemon. if that makes sense. like aunt agnes had a gmax hatterene. and maybe the shezow before aunt agnes had teras. do you see where im going with this

AND I KNOW IT SEEMS A LITTLE UNFAIR TO GIVE SHEZAP FOUR POKEMON. BUT I JUST REALLY LIKE SHEZAP OKAY. AND I KNOW GIVING HER THIEVUL SEEMS A LITTLE WEIRD BUT JUST HEAR ME OUT PLEASEEEEE

that’s it i think. if anyone has any thoughts on what pokemon they think the characters would have that I didn’t use, please let me know!! as well as if you’re curious on why i chose the pokemon i did. would love to hear/answer it :D
