The stolas being stolen debate from months ago resurfaced. I didn't speak up about it many people who follow me on tumblr are die-heart Vivziepop fans. I need to confess somewhere. I always thought Stolas was inspired by Zorrick from Galactic Twist. In 2023, I low-key thought Viv stole his concept. With new evidence, I'm 99% certain she copied the character. I'm going to explain why. I hope people take time to hear me out.

For contex, I was a die-hard fan of GT back in the day, I read the comics religiously, watched the animated shorts and pilot often, I practically had every little detail memorized. I was a fan of Viv too. Watching Helluva, I thought there were references to GT, yet since the blog was gone, I wasn't able to check. Some lines were too familiar. I'm going to go into detail about references, I think Viv / someone on her team read the comics and saw the pilot.

I don’t blame you for not speaking up about it in the first place especially when you got Vivziepop fans and stans following you. They are extremely protective over her so it wouldn’t end well.

In regards to the Zorrick / Stolas debate…

Can people not put words in my mouth? I’ve been directed to 10 blogs discussing the Zorrick /Stolas thing. Along with odd claims I never said / things about Viv and I being close or friends? I genuinely don’t know her at all. I don’t want that misinformation to spread and to be dragged into crap. I also never gave up on my dream. I privated the blog because if I did not the parent company of who I signed it off to would get it removed. I also learned that the particular contract I signed was borderline illegal and I learned since then plus got rights back.

I’m sorry to use the following tags but no one is listening to me, except for a small minority of respectful people and I’m sick of being directed.

I saw the pilot of Galactic Twist, and I wouldn't be surprised if the creators of Helluva Boss encountered it and drew some inspiration from it at some stage. The HB staff have been transparent about acknowledging other shows. In the episode "Unhappy Campers", Rooster Teeth's "Camp Camp" was heavily referenced, they made reference to it in Hazbin too, and Viv has said shows like south park are her inspriation. This is paying homage than stealing. I found 3 notable references to Galactic Twist in Helluva so far. Stolas shares traits with Zorrick, while the bodyguard of the Old World Leader (GT) mirrors both the personality and design elements of Vortex. GT exists in the realm of internet culture and doesn't have the copyright protections that Hazbin or Helluva have; claiming it as such is like asserting ownership over a meme. If the creator of GT had any concern about copyright, they would have taken steps to secure it, much like Viv does, and would have pursued action against her by now. The creator of GT obviously doesn't see this as a problem, so this story is just internet drama bait. Relax. :)

I'm learning lore of a show I never seen, thank you. You're right, the post made it seem like it wasn't inspiration, but if the creator of this Galactic Twist didn't make a public statement then maybe it was rage bait. I still have doubts about it. No one has given me a clear explanation of Zorrick, I'm dying to know more about him.

Vivziepop and Stolas:

Vivziepop getting emotional over the comparisons along with saying she invested time into him is just funny. She makes it sound like Stolas is her own original character when in reality he’s based of demonology Stolas. 😂

Vivziepop:

Yeah, Vivziepop and her standom can be a hive mind. In general, if you are in her group in someway or shape. Take her with a grain of salt because Vivziepop is known to put people against each other and starts nasty rumors that sound believable. It’s a repeated pattern.

The big difference between Artsy and Vivziepop is the payment and how it’s conducted. Vivziepop is based on pure favoritism and doesn’t want the talented animators to leave.

Artsy, as shown in their testimony, mentions that anyone working for them knows upfront what they’re getting and pay can be negotiated. Artsy also wants to avoid outsourcing at all costs while Vivziepop outsources to every place under the sun.

While paying 45-60 dollars per hour sounds unbelievable it is possible. For example, Lackadaisy despite being a completely different scenario they pay generously. Here is Lackadaisy’s post about their pay.

The intern section is alleged but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was real judging by the intern scene in Mastermind.

It wasn’t sent by a fan, the anon is an actual employee who worked on Helluva Boss and Galactic Twist. The main reason why the original ask was deleted was because I made the stupid mistake of believing a casual kiwi farms lurker troll later on instead of waiting for an official response from the creator 🤦‍♂️. I should’ve continued on sticking to my ground and taking what they said with a grain of salt.

Anon’s testimony and experience with Galactic Twist and Helluva Boss:

Yes, this is the 2nd-3rd repost mainly because I wanted to add my commentary like I did with the original deleted ask and it felt dry without it. Don’t worry, this is the last time I’ll repost it 🙏.

- Vivziepop would freak out and be pissed if you used your actual account, so I understand why you’re using anonymity section. Yes, Galactic Twist is a very small team. If Artsy hired a clean up crew it would be more money out of their pocket and it doesn’t help like you mentioned that the team is very small.

- 60 dollars per hour is a lot especially when it’s a small team. Yeah, they want to break the cycle and be able to make it into a safe space. Spindlehorse lately especially with the recent announcement of Amazon feels corporate.

- Even better Artsy negotiates with you guys about the pay.

Meanwhile with Spindlehorse their attitude is: “If you don’t like (insert pay) you can leave.No one is forcing you.”

- The outsourcing and the strict deadlines don’t surprise me as ex employees: Erin Frost and Salem for example, emphasize that aspect a lot. There’s also alleged favoritism in the studio, as many employees want Vivziepop’s approval and acknowledgment. Some employees get paid higher than others.

- The intern section is alleged. I personally wouldn’t be surprised if it was true.

- Interns sadly don’t know better as they still don’t have much experience in the world. Making them easy to exploit. In episode 11, Mastermind: there was a scene where Blitzø talks to interns and if he wasn’t on trial then he would’ve happily exploit said teenagers until they’re no longer of use to him.

- The fact you made more money on Galactic Twist is very telling and it’s pretty impressive since they are small team meanwhile Vivziepop has literally everything at her fingertips. She has Sharkrobot, Patreon, Hot Topic, Youtooz and can still can barely pay most of her employees properly.

- I always hated this weird comparison between Vivziepop and Artsy. “These two creators both like musicals. That means Artsy is a Vivziepop 2.0!” That logic makes no sense. Just because one creator has similar interests to Vivziepop doesn’t mean they are automatically the same person and will follow in her footsteps 🤦‍♂️.

- I get it, some people are concerned that history will repeat itself but cmon on this is a bit silly. I mentioned this in a different ask with a different Anon but Artsy barely posts while Vivziepop is 100x active and is always going on trips.

Good to see people on tumblr talking about zorrick discourse, I'm in a helluva server where it's infiltrated with it at the moment. I'm amused that artsy didn't sue viv by now, if zorrick came out when everyone says he did, and if I created zorrick, I would have sued viv by now cause I'm not going to sugar coat this, stolas and zorrick are the same character. There's a lot of similarities to helluva boss and this galactic twist some pointed out three characters are similar and there is stolen dialogue how did viv get away with it? However, I think people should focus on if artsy cares or not because it seems like artsy hasn't done anything to stop it. Does anyone know how artsy feels about the whole thing? There's people saying they worked with viv on helluva to develop stolas? I want to believe that given the similarities, but no mention of artsy's alleged name in helluva credits. In addition to that a different story is going around that viv is friends with artsy's best friend and art director liz something which is the reason why stolas is the way he is. What is the truth?

“I would have sued viv by now cause I'm not going to sugar coat this, stolas and zorrick are the same character.” That got chuckle out me, I won’t lie. As funny as that is when it comes to the legal system and artwork especially when it comes to copying there are a lot of layers to it.

Of course you have to dig for evidence, make sure Vivziepop knew about said project’s existence and was actively seeking it out, checking how similar the dialogue and characterization is, etc. And if you are broke, you got to be smart about your money especially with comes to suing someone because it will take a lot of your time in general.

“How did Viv get away with it.” To be fair, Artsy (at the time) had a contract with said company regarding Galactic Twist. And said company’s copyright system was crazy so everything got removed. Making it harder to prove that Vivziepop allegedly copied Artsy’s work (unless you have archives of said comic strips and other artwork that Artsy has done in the past).

Artsy has been aware of some similarities between characters for a long time and when Helluva Boss came out officially, they have been asked if they worked on the show. Artsy has never worked on Helluva Boss or with Vivziepop.

I hope the other anon who brought up Zorrick comes through, I run a Hellaverse discord server and my server with around 500 people in it, is divided about this 'Zorrick' I can never find anything but 100 or more people swear he existed so he must if that many know; people shared images at what is depicted to be the aliens from this series, they look similar to Viv's art style. The whole series sounds like someone's alien adopt me fanfic, some human children adopted by aliens? Now my server is in a heated debate about Stolas, Zorrick, and robes!? They're acting weird over the amount of times Stolas wore robes in the series and that means Viv copied it???????? It's a robe. I muted the channels, I don't even know what is going on anymore. I hope someone explains.
