Galahad beamed with pride at that, and once again, Lancelot fought the urge to smile. As Galahad demonstrated his powers at Nimue’s request, moving a heap of dead leaves in such a way that they would spell out his name on the ground, Lancelot thought back to what he had said about wanting to be just as good of a knight as he was.
No, my dear Galahad, you won’t be as good a knight as I.
You’ll be even greater.
This absolutely gorgeous commission comes from @vee-skies who slayed me in one go with the du Lac family. Sometimes a family is a hedgehog, a hedgehog, and a hedgehog, none of them related by blood but all loving each other with all of their might (and for these three? That’s a lot of might!).
Did Lancelot cry when Galahad took his first steps?
No. Well... Yes but not out of happiness or pride. Galahad was already old enough to stand on his own when Lancelot took him in. Walking happened soon after.
He cried because Elaine wasn't there to see it.
What if Galahad and Percival were sparring and they threw their powers at each other. Galahad a ball of light and Percival a ball of fire. And when the power collided it created a small firework, and instead of continuing the spar they spent the rest of the day creating fireworks and other fun little effects.
Sometimes at dances or parties they perform these little “magic tricks” and it’s one of the little activities they like to do.
THE BEANS MAKE FIREWORKS THAT'S PRECIOUS.
Also, imagine them making a firework display and Omega (the dragon) enjoys it so much his tail smacks against the ground and almost causes a fissure.
Day 23: Courtyard
He always loved coming here.
Galahad couldn't quite remember the very moment he was allowed to roam the castle unsupervised, but he knew in his heart that he had dashed outside the building to the courtyard, looking at the looming outer wall before turning his attention to the plants.
His fingers brushed against the buds on the rosebushes, light as a breeze, imagining that his touch alone could make them blossom and bloom. His eyes travelled along the ladders of ivy, subconsciously floating to follow it up, up, up the side of the castle, as though he were climbing it.
From above, he could see the paths and patterns in the courtyard paths, the labyrinthine hedges and the symmetrical placement of the apple trees.
In the sky, high above the world, Galahad drank in the sight of his home and smiled brighter than a ray of sunshine.
I feel like theres a lot of comedy that can be derived from Nimue being this immortal deity consider : her refering to peoples actions from their diffrent reincarnations-
being very good with children( raising lance and helping raise Galahad many times )
- trying the age herself up visually bc people definetly het suspicious
- her being so swept up in euphoria of finding her child again she forgets that she needs to fill paperwork to actually be a mother
-"mom why do you have antique dresses in you closet ? "
- using slang and terminology that is very outdated
- beimg overly friendly with people who are technically strangers but she met their ealier reincarnations (or overly agressive )
- trying to correct the wrongs of ealier reincarnations (saving Elaine etc.)
sometimes succeding but rarely on a big scale
- traveling a lot bit mostly hanging around the same places
- living near a lake (not nessesarily hers ) unless it majorly inconvinces her family
- tje classic arguing with historians bc she was there for the event they argue about
theres a lot of posibilities but question do you think she would tell about being a deity to Lance and Galahad at some point if yes would it be in all reincarnations or would it be selective ?
have anice day /night
This is absurdly late to be answered, but I have absolutely considered Office AU Nimue to be the same Nimue as the medieval Avalon Series.
There's a post here and here that touch on it a bit! Though they're not as comedic and more bittersweet.
But I gotta say, the idea of Nimue seeing another incarnation of baby Lancelot and just... yoinking the baby without a second thought is delightful. She's so happy to see her little sonion again!
I think... The first few times, she wouldn't be very keen about spilling the beans to her family about not dying, never dying, and reincarnation being real. But after a while she wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. Lancelot and Galahad would notice when they're pushing 80/63 and she's still very alive and agile.
With time and experience, I think it gets easier for her to tell them. It's still one of her least favourite parts of the time she spends with them.
Baby Galahad : Why do you have to go to work?
Lance : I have to protect the king, plus they pay me a salary.
Galahad : . . .
Lance : . . .
Galahad : I don’t even like celery.
Galahad proceeds to resent celery for the rest of his life, even if he doesn't remember why.
Baby Galahad throwing a tantrum and throwing things? Ah how wonderful.
How many Knights got a bucket to the head due to him not wanting to go to sleep?
I guess all of them? (Save Percival because she wasn't there yet.)
Donno about buckets but there's definitely been quite a few shattered ornaments to the skull when he was unhappy. He also tore a few old tapestries. Arthur didn't particularly care and as far as he was concerned it gave the artisans an excuse to update and restore those old things, while Lancelot was horrified at how quickly and easily his son destroyed pieces of history.
Galahad thought the ripping noises were funny and forgot why he was mad.
