Star Trek: The Original Series - Shuttlecraft by John Carlance
While the reveal that the “curse” inflicting the indigenous population was being caused by a crashed Galileo Shuttlecraft, seeing it in its deteriorated broken state reminded me of the real Galileo prop.
The Galileo was a massive prop used on the original series. It served as many different shuttlecraft, but was most famous for being the Galileo 7. After TOS ended the prop was left to a prop warehouse and left abandoned for decades where it was free to rot and corrode over time before being picked up by some super fans during an auction.
These fans spent many more years working with master shipbuilders to restore the prop to its original glory. And now the prop is on permanent display in NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Texas.
that stance tho
