Since I've been spending the last two weeks at home (#stayhome !) I've been watching a lot of Netflix and stumbled upon Timeless recently.

After binge watching the entire first season and a couple of episodes of season two, I've become somewhat fascinated with the character Garcia Flynn. So have a quick coloured pencil portrait of that charming smile. 😁 (Well, at least I tried capturing it?) As for the the background (that stands out faaar too much):

I drew a pocket watch. Timetravellers, time, watches, eh? Alright, I just wanted to draw the watch I have in my nightstand (that I rarely use because I don't want to lose it somewhere). I love pocket watches and this one is really beautiful. You can see all those tiny gears turning inside. :) (I changed minor details though.)

If you could meet anyone from history who would it be and why?

okay. i’m going to separate this into two categories: people i don’t actually like but have many questions for and people i could actually have a pleasant conversation with. 

people i could actually have a pleasant conversation with: 

- alan turing: he’s cool, gay, and cracked the enigma 

- mary shelley: interesting the whole way round 

- bram stoker: interesting books and stuff

- abraham lincoln: questions about civil war and things 

- the public universal friend: a quaker who rejected gender norms, what else need i say?

- madam c.j. walker: hardworking entrepreneur who did a lot to help others

- henry david thoreau: at what point will we not need a govt? i need answers 

- oscar wilde: just would be fun idk 

- i think a conversation with elizabeth hamilton would be okay: i have questions about her accomplishments but also about her marriage to hamilton 

people i don’t like / agree with but have many questions for: 

- theodore roosevelt: want to know why he was so anti-irish 

- thomas jefferson: this motherf-er confuses me. i want to know what made him believe the racist shit he said in notes on the state of virginia, i want to know what he proposed they were to do with black people who were free since he didn’t think they should stay in america, i want to know why if he really had issues with slavery, i want to know why he freed his slave children in his will, i want to know generally what the fuck 

- alexander hamilton: why give your sister-in-law a slave for her birthday? why cheat on your wife and reveal it to the whole world? what are those letters to laurens? w h y? 

- george washington: questions about millions of things tbh. 

- carry nation (or anyone associated with WCTU or the Anti-Saloon League): i’d be here all day explaining.
