I wish the Romulan Nijil had more recognition, he was hot as hell and had some compassion and principles, I mean, look at the concern he felt for the albino Andorian, I'm surprised there aren't more fanfics about him, give him more love pls.

While I'm at it, might as well have Gareb survive too. Give me an arc where the Enterprise (along with Shran and Jhamel) makes a covert and very against-regulations rescue mission into Romulan space just to yoink Gareb away to safety. Boy deserves it. Plus it's a good opportunity for further character interactions and development, so win win.

Poor Gareb was abducted, manipulated into believing his captors were his saviours and that he was the last surviving Aenar, pumped full of stimulant drugs and worked to the point of collapse piloting drone ships to “get revenge for his people”, and when Jhamel FINALLY makes contact with him again he is immediately overcome by guilt for having killed so many people in the name of a lie, but that only lasts like 20 seconds because the Romulan admiral who’s been using him all this time STABS HIM IN THE THROAT, KILLING HIM INSTANTLY??

brb gonna go cry. 

(At least he managed to atone for his actions by destroying the drone ships, but it’s still very sad)
