'What happened?' wondered the people of America. Had Putin rigged the election? They all pointed fingers before realizing that ultimately, their utter disconnect with each other had left a hole big enough for Trump to squeeze through, foreign meddling or not.

A dangerous new leader had emerged, and the people joined hands for the first time in a long time. And swore that they would not stand for tyranny, racism, sexism or cruelty.

They would fight threats both foreign and domestic and stand against anyone who tried to trample on their rights, social progress and sense of decency. Even the president.

The people stood together, and they were awake. They vowed not to let anyone bring them down, and to move forward together. They wouldn't let any morally blind leader trample on what they had been fighting so hard to achieve. Unity.
