I'm probably Bigender or something similar tbh but I don't really want to put in any effort to change my lifestyle so I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing
It took me almost a week, but I finally figured out why Anthony Head's death socked me in the jaw.
I was never really a Buffy fan, and I saw Repo! the Genetic Opera but didn't really connect with it. Never watched Merlin or Galavant. But when I saw a little bit of Buffy out of the corner of my eye and Giles was there, I was glued to the screen.
I didn't know why at the time, but it hit me today: I wanted to be Giles when I grew up. He was gender goals — long, long before I had any inkling I was trans.
Bookish, and valued because of it. Soft spoken, but commanded a room when necessary. Insightful, not condescending. Responsible, but maybe a little erratic (cautious, then reckless, and back again). Dry, but caring. Intense, not melodramatic. Quietly sexy, self effacing, and an all around Good Man.
Anthony could telegraph all that and get Giles to stick in my mind, when the rest of the show slid off me like oil off a hot skillet. That says something about the kind of actor he was. And from the looks of things, he was a truly good man out of character, too.
I hope I'm a fraction of the steady, thoughtful, nerdy gentleman for someone that Giles was for the crew on Buffy, and that I can mean something to someone the way Anthony meant so much to so many.
Gender is a performance and...
I'm getting a standing ovation
I'm getting booed off the stage
I have stage fright
I don't know my lines
I'm in the audience
I'm a one-person show
I'm incomprehensible experimental theatre
I couldn't get a ticket
I prefer working backstage
I want to see the results
there's a specific moment where you stop wearing clothes and start choosing them and it changes everything and I don't think people who haven't experienced it understand what I mean by everything
💔 Sparkle Confession: The Day I Stopped Pretending to Be a Boy
It’s hard to pick one day where everything changed. Because for so long, I didn’t even let myself think about it. I just kept pushing it down. I knew something was different when I was younger.
Like, other boys didn’t daydream about wearing dresses or wish they could be soft and pretty. They weren’t jealous of girls, they weren’t confused by how right their clothes looked or how sweet they got to act. But I tried to ignore it. I told myself it was a phase.
I dressed how I was supposed to. Talked like I was supposed to. Tried to be one of the lads even when it felt like I was playing a role I never auditioned for. And I got good at pretending.
Too good.
But then… something cracked.
I think it was one night, just after a long day, I came home and pulled on this little lace bra I had. No makeup, no plans, no one watching just me, a mirror, and that soft bra that felt more me than anything I’d worn in years.
And I looked up at myself… and I just broke.
Not from sadness. From relief.
Because for the first time, I saw her in the mirror. Not perfectly. Not fully. And I knew I couldn’t pretend again after that.
Since then, it’s been messy. Some days I feel beautiful. Some days I feel lost.
But I’ve stopped lying to myself.
That was the day I let go of the mask.
And started becoming. Not a fantasy. Not a joke. Just… me 💖
Thank you to every soul who helped me get here ✨ I’m not alone anymore 💕
With sooo much love

Writing genderfluid characters is so fun cuz like why choose a gender for my character when I can be inclusive and get euphoria!
Gender is a performance! I say, throwing away all the makeup that I somehow let myself be talked into buying and then avoided using.
Gender is a performance! I say, cutting my hair and dying it shades of blue and purple.
Gender is a social construct, I sulk, buying more freaking makeup and letting my hair grow long and cutting away all the blue and purple.
I have a job interview today, and it's making me Do Things to Perform Gender in a way I don't like.
