Qrow gave a dark chuckle and raised his flask to his lips. The liquid inside it was watered down, but it was better than nothing. He gulped down the contents and staggered to the nearest chair.
“You need to learn how to let loose, Jimmy,” Qrow told him, grinning. “Sometimes, you have to let it all go for a while. It’s nice.”

A hand lifted to his chest, pressing against the sudden drum that lived under his shirt. First Qrow showing up without an announcement and now Ironwood. What a world they were in now.

guilt was an emotion that could truly eat a person alive. it causes one to lose sleep, lose their appetite, and their strength. the former professor worked day in and day out trying to rebuild the city she called home for so long. every day seemed like one step forward and one step backward. perhaps if she had never left ozpin's side during the battle for beacon, the two could have prevented the events that befell the academy. that was her job --- no her purpose at beacon. to stay and fight along side the headmaster. now he was no where to be found. after collapsing that afternoon, while attempting to repair a building, she was brought back to her apartment. every fiber of her being was exhausted and she felt b r o k e n. after she was able to stand on her own, she went to the only place she ever allowed herself to break down. trembling hands turn the nozzle to the shower, and waits several minutes before stepping in. she slides down against the wall until she's huddled on the ground clutching her knees to her chest. she let the water run over her being until she could no longer feel it on her skin. the water had gotten cold yet she didn't move. her body shivered with each sob she let out, her tears vanishing in the water washing over her.
