On November 4, #1752, he was made a #Freemason, receiving his Entered Apprentice degree at the lodge in Fredericksburg, #Virginia. He was twenty years of age, and he remained a Freemason the rest of his life. This illustration is a portrait of Washington by Charles Willson Peale, made when Brother Washington was forty years old.
