no-one: *me just chilling comfortably in bed, listening to some ~funky dunky~ music*
the room: *warm and toasty*
my body, like the fucking traitor it is: *shivers so hard I drop my phone on my face* fUUCK-
A lifelong habit I've always had was picking at my face and constantly scanning it with my hands to see if there were any bumps or pimples...
I think it became something of a stress habit for me where anytime I was overly bored or stressed, I'd just fixate on whether there were any blemishes on my face/hair, akin to how a bird's prone to plucking their own feathers (which is a very fitting metaphor since at one point, this habit got so bad that I started pulling my hair out and actually made my hairline recede a little).
Of course this led to a lot of pimple scars on my face, which I always feel lowkey shameful of. I always wanted flawless skin and I know my habit of constantly touching my face is 90% of the cause of anything that happens on my face.
Lately, I've been trying to make an active change in my behavior to better this... but man, it's hard.
I have to make such a conscious decision and completely rewire the way I've been thinking about pimples and how to handle them. My hand notices a bump and my brain automatically wants to pick at it and make the area flat.
But doing so would actually create an open wound on my face...
And an open wound is literally the last thing it needs if I ever hope to want flawless skin :')
Score!
