Additional question on the Quirk naming process. Akira Iwako's Quirk from Vigilantes is called Hardening, implying, by my interpretation, at least, that the name was either recycled for Kirishima, or that their Quirks are the same in functionality, and that his version would act the same under Trigger. I've also heard the theory that people just get to name their own Quirks, and that's how we ended up with names like "Hellflame" and "Wooden Swords From His Hands". What do you think about it?

So when it comes to Quirks, I do not believe that one then one kind of the same Quirk can exist. Not unless the individuals are related by blood some how. To me it goes against the idea that of what Quirks are. They are something that is wholly unique to a person. It is the one thing that defines them more then anything else because no one else has it. Quirks can have similar functions, but certain subtleties that make them different from another. Like how the two versions of "Hardening" don't even look at all like the same power. Mount Lady and Gigantomachia are both great examples of this. They both have the "Gigantification" Quirk, but they both work differently. Mount Lady has a single, fixed height, while Gigantomachia can adjust his overall height whenever he wishes. Even with examples like that, I think the explanation is more meta. That being it can be hard to come up with names for Quirks. Especially when translating things from Japanese. How something is spelt in kanji may not translate over well to English and you'll have to use a name again.

As for naming Quirks, I don't think that people name their own Quirks. At least, not when they are first named. The names of Quirks sound too clinical to be named by their own user. If people could name their own Quirks, you'd think that we'd get a lot more dumb names. I always assumed that they given over by whatever doctor was looking over the person when they first got their Quirk. And if you have a Quirk that is like one of the parent Quirks, you just inherited that name, like with the Iida brothers both having "Engine". And with some Quirks, it can just be hard to come up with Quirk names. So now and then, some of the sillier ones slip through the cracks and you get stuck with them. Except for some Quirks. Because I certainly believe that Enji picked out the name of "Hellflame" because it sounded scary. We do know that you can change and rename Quirks as new details are revealed about it, so it wouldn't be that farfetched to think that someone can choose to rename their Quirk if they wanted.

This increases the user's strength and durability proportional to how big they grow the part. The user can increase their general size as well, being able to grow up to eighty feet tall. The user can apply the heat from their body in additional ways. This gives the user a devastating Quirk, able to smash through whatever may be in their way with their raw power. They can smash into their foes, cover the area with steam to blind people, block attacks with their body, crash through enemy defenses, or just make themselves taller than other people. Though the user cannot handle the size of their body, as it is painful and strenuous to make themselves larger. This will become worse the longer they do it and the bigger they get. The increase in size can be dangerous with how big the user gets and how hard it is to control.

New Quirk Name: Goonormius

This Emitter type Quirk allows the user to cover their body in a translucent purple goo. This cover will keep growing and growing until it makes the user a five meter tall slime monster. By moving their body, the user can pilot their cover. The sheer size and thickness of the goo grants the user greater strength and durability, like smashing through bricks or absorbing gunfire. The goo has a light acidic effect to it. While not dangerous in and of itself, the sheer scale which the user can apply it makes the Quirk far more dangerous. Things like making burns all over someone's body or making a wall weaker before smashing it apart. The user is protected from their own acid. This gives the user a good tool for combat, their massive body of acid. They can wear down on enemy defenses, deal major damage to their enemies, work as a massive shield for their allies, quickly dissolve loads of debris, or just scare people as a giant goo monster. Though the user cannot maintain this for long as their resistance starts to wear down. The user's size and acidic nature can make their Quirk dangerous to their surroundings. Powerful attacks can carve through the layers to attack the user directly.

New Quirk Name: Statue

This Transformation type Quirk allows the user to grow out a giant, metallic shell around their body that resembles a robotic version of them. The user can pilot these outer shell. This shell is over twenty feel tall. This greatly improves the user's strength and durability, letting them smash through buildings and tank powerful blasts without any harm. As this is only a shell, the user's real body isn't harmed by this. This gives the user a good tool for combat, smashing their foes with their massive size. They can block enemy attacks, barrel straight through their enemies, protect their allies from harm, throw pieces of the terrain around, or just hide in plain side. Though the user's greater size can work against them, potentially causing undo damages. The user's shell can be broken down and eroded, potentially getting to the user inside. The user's ability to move and maintain the form is based around their iron intake, making them weaker if they do not eat enough.

New Quirk Name: Sludge Monster

This Transformation type Quirk allows the user to take on a large mass of green slime in a humanoid shape. This form is rather large, being twenty five feet tall. This enhances the user's strength and durability, especially making them far more resilient to kinetic attacks. The user has a minor control over their body while in this state. They can try to stretch themselves out to grab something, try to compact their body to make them even denser, or wrap part of their body around something they touch. This mixed with the user's density can potentially let the user capture others in their body. This gives the user an amazing Quirk for defense, able to tank whatever the world tries to throw at them. They can bulldoze their way through attacks, trap enemies inside their body, smash their way through defenses, pull in allies to protect them from harm, or just belly flop on top of their enemies to hurt them. Though major damage could force the user out of the form, seemingly getting launched out of it. Trying to morph their body will make them more vulnerable to attacks. The user's size can be an issue, such as accidently getting objects or people caught in them or just making them a massive target.

This Emitter type Quirk allows the user to form a repulsive force around their body. This force is then shaped into larger body parts around the user, looking like massive, clear versions of whatever parts the user applies it. The user can move these by moving their own body parts and can use this to apply the repulsive force. These are powerful additions, able to pick up and throw cars with ease. When applying it to the user's whole body, it acts as a large avatar around their body, measuring over twenty five feet tall. This gives the user a powerful tool for combat, able to smash their way through their enemies while keeping themselves safe. They can slam into their foes, knock back incoming attacks with their body, launch themselves through the air with their legs, launch people or objects by pushing them around, or just beat someone up in their giant form. Though the repulsive effect is powerful and hard to control, especially as the user pushes it around more and more of their body parts. This can end up causing a lot of undo damages and requires the user to exercise extreme caution. The user's energy can be overwhelmed, potentially causing damage to the user's main body.
