Hmm, I don’t know if I really have a favorite number.

8. favourite off-ice bonding time

Possibly the whole time Claude lived with Danny and his kids and they took posed family photos with terrible haircuts and the actual team referred to them as the Briouxs, because that’s some hardcore off-ice bonding.

Also the Avs Rookie House, RIP to that magical era. Which reminds me, I also love the time JT took Josty home for Thanksgiving, that was cute. On a similar note, any time the Avs do anything - Halloween parties, going to concerts/sports games in groups, hanging out at EJ’s house in California, because it always just seems like they all really like each other and have fun together and that’s nice.

And finally, I am still just extremely charmed and delighted by Rusty and ZAR quarantining together because they are two of my favorite boys and they both just seem like sweethearts and good boys with nice dogs and the fact that they are such good friends makes me happy.

13. favourite player that’s dad af

There are probably MORE dad af players (Patrick Marleau, for example, a quintessential Dad™) but my favorite is probably Claude. I love that he was kind of a disaster but has grown into a soft wholesome domestic dad (to his actual son) and a longsuffering captain dad (to his rowdy hockey sons).

17. favourite underrated hockey player

Hmmm. Everyone says Nicky for this to the point that he’s not really underrated anymore. So...hmmm. I’m going to say Patric Hornqvist because he was drafted dead last and has had 20 goals nearly every year, but his value isn’t just in how many goals he scores because he’s the team hype man and motivational yeller and shouty boy and I love him. (I’d also like to add Brandon Tanev to this category because I love my feisty noisy determined boys, and I feel it’s a very underappreciated role that brings a lot of value to the team.) I’d also say Bryan Rust, though he finally started getting some attention this year, but he’s always been so good and talented and versatile and also a good sweet boy. And in terms of underrated by fandom I’ll add Zach Aston-Reese because he just seems lovely and has an adorable dog and I really love him but he doesn’t get a ton of attention.
