I'm thankful for our thousands of memories that can still make me smile on a Monday morning. Like later that night after this picture was taken, we snuck away from the bar crawl at 8pm to retreat to an apartment that wasn't ours and eat Japanese food in bed together instead. And that time your limbs went numb for 6 hours because I had fallen asleep in your arms on a couch that barely fit one person, let alone two, but you didn't want to wake me. And later assured me it was worth it. And the Sunday night we said our goodbyes, but you returned to my doorstep 20 minutes later with flowers from Harris Teeter, just because you had seen me eyeing them when we went grocery shopping. And all of the hours we've spent sprawled out by the pool, or running down the beach, or piggybacking through the water because I'm convinced I'll drown unless you hold me, all while blasting our own personal soundtrack. Relaxing in those teal plastic chairs after a week of work for me and a 3 hour drive for you, watching the sunset through the trees and tuning out the noise of the interstate on the porch of my first "adult" apartment, with wine glasses in our hands and laughter in our throats. Your smile prettier than the sunset. // I never imagined life could be as good as it is with you, but damn, I am so glad it is. You're my best friend. 💚
