Her fans especially make it hard to like her, they make it seem like you’re the antichrist if you point out negative things about Makoto or if you say that another P5 girl is your favorite, they’re all so passive aggressively “Um I think you mean Makoto! :)” And the game REALLY tries to make sure you don’t forget she exists because despite not being a Navi like Futaba and Morgana, she also interjects into battle and is one of the only ones with access to good healing spells besides Joker and Morgana and you kinda can’t have Joker play party healer. The story revolves around trying to make her the most appealing (and the developers didn’t even hide their bias for her) and in doing so, they took from everybody else’s writing to bring her up. And it also doesn’t help that Hifumi was meant to be in the party (which makes sense because of the skills she gives), but the developers loved Makoto too much. She’s easily the least enjoyable party member to me, and I’m including pre-finally got that stick out his ass Morgana. The other characters shouldn’t have to suffer in writing to bring up another.

*finger guns* They tried too hard in making her a waifu and Mitsuru 2.0 and forgot to write a good character. Like, everyone has SOMETHING they contributed to the group, even Morgana (and he’s the less annoying healer despite being pretty bad as a character until endgame), but everybody has to have 1/16 a brain cell after Makoto joins so she can do the smart realizations. I’m glad to know that I know of another person who just doesn’t like her. Like, the only thing I like about Makoto is her Japanese VA and if I close my eyes, I can pretend she’s a different character by that VA.
