Lancelot sees the Holy Grail, stained and painted glass (1886) "how lancelot sought the sangreal and might not see it because his eyes were blinded by such love as dwelleth in kings' houses." This is one of four stained glass panels Edward Burne-Jones (1833–1898) designed for the landing of his home, North End House, in Rottingdean. It captures the moment Sir Lancelot fails his quest for the Holy Grail.

While an angel stands nearby holding the sacred vessel, Lancelot remains distracted by his love for Queen Guinevere. The scene shows how his earthly passion blinds him to his spiritual goal. Crafted by Morris & Company, the panel uses traditional leaded glass and "bullseye" patterns. It is a beautiful example of the medieval style that defined the Pre-Raphaelite and Arts and Crafts movements. Loc. Victoria and Albert Museum, London, UK.
