teaandspite replied to your photoset “A-H of an illustrated letting assignment I did last semester. Yes, I...”
OOH these are nice! I think my favorite is the third on the left, but it's tough to decide!
Thank you! ^^ I have more to upload, but I didn’t want to spam everyone’s dash. It was a super fun assignment, and I’m thinking of doing another series of letters with a more consistent theme.
hey I really liked your dream/story and i just wanted to say that it sounds like exactly something taako and kravitz would end up doing.
Oh man, thank you! If I’d known people were going to actually, like... want to reblog it, I would have written it a bit better, haha.
I can totally see that though! Just, “Sell me organs? HELL YEAH I wanna sell these shitty dysfunctional meat sacks. Sign me the FUCK UP” which then slowly transfers to, “And sign me the fuck up for you, my good man, because you’re rockin’.”
so I’m finally finishing up TAZ and
“It delighted in your company... and still does.”
HELLO YES I’M NOT OK
Well, uh, idk how relevant it is to anyone but it isn't vore so...Have you seen the trailer for A Wrinkle in Time? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
i was actually really scared when i saw the inbox notification, so this was a very pleasant surprise.
I was in the movie theater about to watch Coco when a very strange trailer for a movie came on. It was filled with lush imagery, compelling cinematography, adorable looking actors, and a really interesting seeming plot, and I was just squinting at it thinking, wow this is cool, what the heck is it for? some new sci-fi movie? until the shot where we heard the sound of basketballs being rhythmically dribbled in perfect sync, and the camera approaches a circle of perfectly identical yellow houses, and I looked at my mother, and she looked at me, and we both thought exactly the same thing.
“oh my god, it’s a wrinkle in time.”
So yeah, I’m pretty freakin’ hyped for a movie that can - in a single, amazingly iconic scene - portray a location from a book I haven’t read in 10 years so perfectly and so vivdly that not only do I get it in an immediate, chilling snap of realization, but the person sitting next to me did too. Like, it was just - the memory came immediately, I didn’t have to think at all. I didn’t even know they were making a Wrinkle in Time movie. It just felt like I was seeing something familiar, y’know? like they’d managed to film exactly what was in my head when I was reading one of my favorite books as a kid.
It might end up being a perfect movie, but man, I won’t forget that moment for awhile.
dskfds it makes me happy that people still think about/care about the Thaumatale crew, haha. I’m still thinking a lot about how to tell their story, and what format to do it best in!
Originally, I was certain “oh, visual novel, I love those!” but now I wonder if I should just do illustrated web fiction. That’d mean I can start posting it way sooner...

is rimwords good?? i kinda want it
I like it decently, I say, having played it until five AM this morning without realizing it and then when I woke up I launched it up again.
It’s like dwarf fortress but less hell to play. I do recommend modding the shit out of it though, there are a lot of QoL features people have added in, and mods like Psychology and Hospitality add nuance to the gameplay that are totally aces. It’s super easy to mod though, it’s all through Steam Workshop.
In a lot of ways there isn’t as much depth as dwarf fortress, since it doesn’t go through that ridiculous world/history gen process, which... kinda is sad imo, but there’s a lot of other stuff I like about it. There’s actually a decent bit of lore that’s interesting, and there are a couple of different base-game scenarios to play, with the option of adding more from the workshop. Name your colonists after your friends for a grand old time, and then you can say sentences like, “Oh shit dude, you just made a jacket out of the spare human leather I had lying around.”
you know you have good friends when they get you a super cozy blanket because you sleep over so often
