sooo first ever post. completely open to comments that could make future posts better!
Summary: 7th member of katseye makes a MASSIVE mistake on the final show of Beautiful Chaos. throughout the entire rest of the show she’s pretending like that didn’t hurt her ego a lot, but obvi the other members notice. so how do they console her on stage?
tw: fluff! angst…? anxiety (sorta anxiety attack ig)
sophia is the first to notice. she always does. she’s the leader right? of course they all notice, after seeing a tumble like that in the middle of the Gabriela dance break. but sophia will always notice. it’s a dull moment in choreo and sophia immediately draws her attention to you, “y/n??” she stared for a moment confused, but as smart as she is she realizes you’ve gone off into your head once again, doing the thing she always tells you will destroy your mental health.
“y/n!” sophia startles you out of your mind with her tone. you look at her with that common look as though nothing is wrong “yes ms leader?” attempting to return with a snarky reply, quickly cutting sophia off with a change in the choreo. sophia once again being her leader self openly consoles you then and there, “y/n i promise you, replaying everything in your head won’t help you fix it for next time” y/n truly then looks at her leader, the woman she truly adores so much as a person, takes her comment into account before they move on in the song. soon enough y/n meets her second favorite person, her friend, almost sister at this point, megan, who doesn’t give the same look sophia did. one different that sends a different message with a little more reassurance. megan was observant. she could tell someone was on the verge of breaking down and curling up mid anxiety attack, and megan knew what that was like. some that came to her like the prints on the back of her hand. so out of anyone? she could probably give the best reassurance.
once the song ends and y/n and megan get close enough to have a quiet conversation, megan says a quick sentence, which honestly? made y/n forget all of her anxiety and emotion, “that crowd? they don’t care. only you do. you might get a scold and more practice time later. but look at that crowd during your solo. they do not care. they call themselves eyekons for a reason, they’re people. so don’t overthink any of it the rest of our show.” and then y/n stopped. her thoughts, the emotion of failure, beating herself up stopped. she knew she would revisit these feelings later, but now? none of it.
lara had happened to over hear the comment before getting into her choreo with manon. lara and megan were close, how obvious was that? lara had been trying to come up with something in her head to console her friend, but now lara saw both y/n and megan from such a different view point. not of a bad one, but more so respect. she knew megan struggled but she never thought she could emotionalize it into words such as that. so of course the change was prominent once y/n and lara joined near each other, and all lara had to say was “she’s right. people are literally waving eyelighters and yelling for you babe. don’t worry. we all mess up, you got lucky and it happened later on.”
yoonchae and manon honestly didn’t have much of a reaction. they gave you a simple look, yoonchae’s look screamed “you got it. you won’t do it again.” while manon’s was quite different. manon is passionate, as we’ve seen. all her look said was, “after the show i will be there the entire time”. daniela giving a similar reaction from yoonchae to y/n. honestly it was there to slightly remind her to focus now rather than focusing about then.
y/n got to her solo part, after her moments of consoling, reaches the front of the stage. and what happens? she sang damn well like nothing happened. she would’ve done it anyways due to professionalism, but this was genuine.
all 7 members of the growing girl group katseye say goodbye to eyekons, and walk off, each one replaying every show in their minds, all crying together. throughout the entire show they all helped each other with emotions, sentimental moments, ate crappy food together. and no shock.. it took y/n her own stage fail to realize every single member in katseye will always be there for each other. on stage, in the dressing room, laying in bed, texting, eating, getting makeup done. simple and harsh moments are spent to together with words no one forgets.
