Ahhh your post immediately made me think about Homelander eventually getting those sweet cravings from the first time he's started indulging in Baker's treats until it's become a regular occurrence. Like well he's now the official authority on what's good - he's gottttaaa keep up! The man deserves to gain a bit of happy relationship weight. It’s so cute. Although I know he throws a tantrum the first time they have to let out the suit a bit. I’m never gonna be over his love handles from s4. I want to bite them!
And yes, I can absolutely see him developing a taste for it over time. I tend to base all my characterization decisions on his emotional state. So I think because he starts to associate sweet things with love and care, he starts to crave it and become an absolute sugar fiend.
