A New Edge For The Game

The neon glow of Tokyo’s streets reflected in Alex’s sharp eyes as he strolled through the city, his body still pulsing from the night’s intense training, yet, amidst the hum of traffic and distant chatter, something felt off, a presence lingered just out of sight, footsteps pacing his own, stopping when he stopped, resuming when he moved.

A smirk tugged at the corner of Alex’s lips. Amateur.

Rather than confronting them outright, he decided to lure them deeper, weaving through narrow alleys and quieter streets where the glow of the city barely reached. Eventually, he turned into a secluded alley, its entrance swallowed in shadows. There, he waited.

The hesitant shuffle of shoes echoed behind him, a second later, a nervous voice stammered, “Uh… Alex Gold?”

Alex turned, arms crossed, gaze piercing through the dim light, before him stood a young man, wide-eyed yet determined, dressed in a hoodie with the unmistakable insignia of The Phantom Aces stitched onto the fabric. A fan of the rival team.

Alex chuckled, his voice low and amused. “So, they’re sending fans to spy on us now? That desperate, huh?”

The fan raised his hands defensively. “N-No! I just- I wanted to see how Gold’s best players trains! Maybe pick up a few tricks…”

Alex took a slow step forward, his presence towering. “You thought you could just follow me around and steal our techniques?” His tone darkened, amusement shifting to something far more dangerous. “That’s quite bold of you...” He slowly peeled off his baseball batting gloves, letting them drop to the ground.

Before the fan could react, Alex’s hand shot forward, gripping his throat in a vice-like hold, a golden glow seeped from his fingertips, intertwined with inky black tendrils snaking over the fan’s body, panic flashed in the fan’s eyes, his body convulsing as the transformation took hold.

His arms stiffened, fingers melting together as his skin glowed with a metallic hue, hardening into polished bright gold. His torso twisted, compacting, spine cracking and reshaping, his legs merging into a single sleek handle, his mouth opened in a silent scream, but within seconds, he was no longer human - just a pristine, gold baseball bat resting in Alex’s grip.

Alex examined his new weapon, giving it a test swing, the weight was perfect, the grip familiar. A grin spread across his face as he tossed it over his shoulder.

"Now this..." he muttered "...is a weapon worthy of Gold."

The challenge has been accepted.

The Phantom Aces think they can challenge the Golden Army to an exhibition match and beat us at our own game. They may be undefeated, but they will never have the heart and determination we have.

In order to beat the best, you need to become the best. And that means practice, practice, and more practice. At their last official game before the exhibition, Brody made sure to rally his team. That's what a captain does, after all. The other players look to you for guidance and morale. It's a tough job, but that's why there's two captains! Definitely couldn't do it without Scott there by his side.

As Brody stepped up to the plate in the top of the 9th inning, the score already 10-3 in their favor, golden bat in his hand, he knew they had a good shot against the Aces. The Golden Army never goes down without putting up a fight! What they lack in home field advantage won't mean anything come game time. Plus some help from the golden gods never hurt.

A clean hit on the ball sends it flying into the outfield and Brody starts running to first, then to second. A solid double, letting Brandon sprint to home base for another run. The crowd cheered, their energy electric in the stadium. Yeah, they'd be alright.

Aight, so listen, bruv. Some spooky-ass team thinks they can roll up on Gold and stay undefeated? Nah. Not happenin’. Not on our fookin’ watch.

Phantom Aces? Pffft. Who even are they, bruv? Ain’t got no city, no records, just some legends about how they never lost. Buncha ghosts playin’ tricks on their opponents, makin’ ‘em second-guess, get in their heads.

Well, guess what?

Mack don’t do thinkin’. Mack just does winnin’.

Ain’t no mind games workin’ on me, ‘cause I don’t even use me fookin’ brain like that. All I gotta do is run faster, hit harder, and smash ‘em into the fookin’ dirt.

Ahah Don't be surprised, bruhz. Like, Master decided this week, I ain’t Maximus. I’m Mack. Dumb, cocky, thick-headed—but fookin’ built for winnin’.

Not that I mind, yeah? Master knows what’s best. He says I should go full dumb jock mode for this match, so that’s what I do. No overthinkin’, no second-guessin’. Just pure power, pure confidence, pure fookin’ dominance.

Hittin’ the Gym – Gettin’ Even More Stacked

So first thing I do? Double me gym time. I already got the best fookin’ physique on the team, yeh? But if them Phantom pricks wanna play shadow tricks, I’ll just power through ‘em. Ain’t no spooky bollocks gonna matter when I’m swingin’ through ‘em like a wreckin’ ball.

Chest day? Double. Squats? Triple. Deadlifts? All fookin’ day.

Coach comes in like, “Bruv, you don’t gotta train that hard—”

And I just flex, grinnin’ like the cocky bastard I am.

Coach sets up the machine, crankin’ it past normal speed. Lads step up, takin’ their turns, tryna adjust to the pace.

Next up? Fieldin’ drills.

Normally, I switch between third base and shortstop. Quick reflexes, readin’ the ball, makin’ split-second plays. But Master says I’m Mack now—so I don’t fookin’ think, I just react.

Coach fires grounders down the line.

Lads take their turns, movin’ smooth, calculatin’ angles.

Me? I just explode.

First step? Pure power. Body low? Muscles locked. Ball comin’? Already in me glove before I even process it.

I flash a cocky grin, poppin’ me gum. “What can I say? Me body’s just built different.”

Now, don’t get it twisted—I ain’t just power. Mack’s got legs, bruv.

Them Phantom pricks move quick? Guess what? So do I.

Sprint drills—full bases. Most lads focus on form, on efficient turns. Me? I just fookin’ go.

I hit the gas outta the box, legs pumpin’, veins poppin’, breath comin’ sharp.

First base—barely slow down. Second—already pushin’ for third. Home? Full fookin’ steam.

Coach looks at the timer. “Mack, mate, you just ran that faster than ya ever did before.”

I smirk, stretchin’ me arms. “That’s ‘cause I ain’t got no fookin’ doubts anymore, bruv.”

Coach shouts, “Mack, bruv, you can’t just bulldoze every play—”

I grin. “Why the fook not? They can’t ghost through me if I flatten ‘em first.”

Lads crack up, but I’m dead fookin’ serious.

Master Percival Checkin’ In – Ain’t Lettin’ Him Down

One evenin’, after gym, I see Master Percival checkin’ out the training grounds.

Now listen, bruv. Master Percival? That’s me fookin’ king.

Smart as hell, sharp as a blade, and always ten steps ahead of everyone else. If anyone can crack them Phantom Aces’ game, it’s him.

So I straighten up, flex a lil’ (y’know, just so Master knows his dumb jock project is growing proper beefy), and jog over.

“Mastaa,” I nod, grinnin’ wide. “Aces are fookin’ done, yeh? We takin’ this dub easy.”

He lifts an eyebrow, sippin’ his espresso. “Confidence is good, Mack. But preparation wins battles.”

I puff me chest out. “I am the preparation, bruv. Trainin’ harder, liftin’ bigger, makin’ meself unstoppable. They wanna fook with Gold? Gotta go through this.”

I flex—again. Master glances once, then smirks, real small-like.

“Good,” he says. “Then don’t stop now.”

An’ fook me, bruv. That’s all I needed.

If Master believes in me, I ain’t ever stoppin’. Not ‘til them Phantom Aces are ghosted off the field.

I don’t care if the stadium fookin’ disappears. I don’t care if them Aces got demon powers. I don’t care if I get haunted for life.

All I care about? Crushin’ this match for Gold.

“Oi, Mack,” Herc calls, tossin’ me a bat. “Ready to wreck some ghosts, bruv?”

I grin like a fookin’ maniac.

“Nah, mate. I’m ready to fookin’ EXORCISE ‘EM.”

Forged in Golden Fire: Fuelled by Rivalry

Hercules sat on the bench in the gym, still gripping the baseball Maddox Kane had tossed him the night before. His fingers ran over the seams, his mind replaying every word of their encounter. Maddox had been smug, confident, daring Herc to break. It had ignited something inside him—a fire he hadn’t felt in a long time.

“You’re thinking too much,” a familiar voice said.

Herc looked up to see his identical twin, Ares, cracking his knuckles as he stepped into the gym. Dressed in a Golden Knights training shirt stretched over his broad frame, Ares was just as big, just as powerful, but more ruthless.

“Thinking is what separates me from you,” Herc shot back, smirking.

Ares chuckled and grabbed a barbell, loading it with heavy plates. “Maybe. But this isn’t a thinking game, Herc. It’s about who wants it more.” He lay back on the bench, gripping the bar. “And after last night, I know you do.”

Herc dropped the baseball, stood up, and grabbed the other side of the bar, spotting Ares as he lifted. “Maddox Kane thinks he knows me. He thinks he’s inside my head.”

Ares pressed the weight up, his muscles straining. “Then show him he’s got it all wrong.”

The gym filled with the sounds of iron clanging and their heavy breathing as they pushed through set after set. Squats, deadlifts, sprints—every rep was a declaration of war. Herc’s mind wasn’t on the pain, only the midnight challenge ahead.

“He’s good,” Herc admitted between breaths as he wiped sweat from his brow. “But I’ll be better.”

Ares grabbed a medicine ball and hurled it at Herc. He caught it with a grunt. “Then prove it. No one outworks us.”

Herc slammed the ball to the ground, catching it on the rebound before launching it back. “Maddox is fast, calculated. I saw it in his stance, his posture.”

“Then be faster. Smarter,” Ares said.

The intensity of their workout escalated. The twins pushed each other beyond their limits—sprinting, throwing, swinging weighted bats with brutal force. Each rep, each movement, was a weapon forged in sweat and fire.

As they wrapped up, Herc leaned against the squat rack, chest rising and falling. Ares smirked. “That’s the Herc I know. You’re not just playing to win—you’re playing to destroy.”

Herc’s lips curled into a determined grin. “Damn right.”

⚾Gold Army vs. The Phantom Aces⚾

The sun had barely started its climb over the city skyline, casting a pale glow over the sleepy street. Xavier's voice echoed through the alley, bouncing off the brick walls. His breath fogged up in the cool morning air with a tone of excitement "Move your ass, Isaac! We don't have all day".

@isaac-gold-45 groaned, his eyes fluttering open to the sight of a half-empty coffee mug on the bedside table. The room was a mess of tangled bed sheets and dirty clothes. He threw on the first T-shirt he found and stumbled to the window, leaning heavily against the frame. He looked down to see Xavier standing impatiently by the mouth of the alley, his hands on his hips, glancing at his watch with a scowl.

"Sir?" he called out, his voice still thick with sleep.

"Damn it, were you still sleeping?"

"Yeah, as if the whole neighborhood wasn't" Isaac quipped back amused.

"You've got five minutes. I'm not waiting any longer, we have a lot of work to do" Xavier shouted.

They made their way through the alley, the early morning air was crisp with a hint of dew, and the smell of freshly baked bread wafted from a nearby bakery. Above them, the sky was a canvas of pale blues and pinks, promising a beautiful day ahead.

“Sir, do you still know how to play baseball? says Isaac amused

"You know I can still throw a mean fastball," Xavier said with a smirk, his eyes lighting up at the memory. "  I was the one they called 'The Heat'. I could strike anyone out blindfolded."

Isaac chuckled, "Yeah, sure"

They arrived at Battery Park city ballfields to prepare for the upcoming battle against the Phantom Aces.

The Phantom Aces were notorious for their lightning-quick tactics and unpredictable gameplay. They were a force to be reckoned with, but the Gold Bros had been training for weeks, pushing themselves beyond their limits.

"You really think we're going to pull this off?" Isaac asked, stretching out his arms.

Xavier's gaze was determined, focused on the horizon, his voice was firm as he turned to face Isaac. 

"There's no room for doubt, my bro. Have faith in the hard work and unity of the Team. They'll be fast, sure as hell, but remember, we're the Golden Knights! We've got the guts, the skill, and the heart to outplay anyone who dares stand in our way!" 💪
