Serpent Assistant
(Female Reader x Black Hat Villainous)
AO3 Link Chapter 1: Slithering Introduction
(Note: Hey guys, this is my first Villainous fanfiction so bare with me if the characters are a lil off. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I will also love some prompts and requests for this lovely one shot series! anyways enjoy!)
Working for Black Hat Organization is definitely not the go to job for any sane or insane person. Unless you're a masochist or some other worldly being with powers that can withstand the horrors and chaos within the manor.
Now (y/n) wasn't any normal person, she wasn't even human. A creature from Greek mythological origins. An immortal creature with the power to turn anybody to stone with the look of her sharp serpent eyes. (Y/n) has been alive for a long while, and over the years she has encountered Black Hat first hand, and from that day she has worked under the embodiment of evil as his personal assistant and general assistant to the others in the manor.
“Hey, don't use your fangs! what did I say?”
Hissss
“Yes thank you, I appreciate it. But you know how Black Hat feels about holes in these documents-”
Hissss
“Vika you aren't helping..”
(Y/n) huffed and took the document out of the snake's mouth that rested on her scalp. On the paper were two punctured holes at the very top due to the snake's fangs. The Gorgon groaned softly and tucked the paper into the folder within her arms. The snakes that made up her hair shifted and watched her with curiosity, their little tongues flickering from their mouths. Though, quickly they went back to resting when the woman they were attached to pointed at them with an accusing face and tone.
“Don't try acting all cute you guys, he is going to be annoyed and you know it.” (y/n) huffed out before adjusting everything in her hands and making her way out of the archiving room deep within the Black Hat manor walls.
The plush tapping of (y/n)’s heels echoed in the expansive hallways as the Gorgon made her way to the Lab first. She needed to drop off a few things for Dr. Flug, and how could she say no to giving a warm hello to 5.0.5?
A gentle knock and the creaking of two lab doors opening were the only sounds (y/n) gave before she squeaked and quickly ducked when a beaker was sent flying over her head. She quickly stood, her head and her fellow snakes whipping their heads to see the cacophony happening before them.
“DEMENIA STOP THROWING!- PUT THAT DOWN YOU LIZARD BRAIN!”
“Make me Nerrrrd! Hahahahahaha!”
“I SWEAR TO!-” Crash! “HEY! STOP THAT!”
Before the snakish woman was a pretty common scene in the Black Hat Manor. Demencia, the punkish pink and green girl held a very expensive looking invention in her grasp. She ran around the laboratory room full of fragile glasses and deadly inventions trying to evade a certain scientist.
Said scientist, Dr. Flug looked ready to blow a blood vessel as he chased the crazy punk around. He seemed to be trying to take back the death ray he was working on for their boss. (Y/n) watched with wide eyes, not moving an inch from her spot as the two ran about. Though the Gorgon decided to finally let her presence be known and coughed gently into her fist.
“Oh hey (y/n)!-” Demencia called out before letting out a squeak as she fell down, getting distracted with the greeting. This finally let Dr. Flug fire his weapon and hit the lizard girl with a tight rope that immediately bound her. “Gotcha!” He cheered before ripping the ray out of her hand. Now that he wasn't distracted with trying to catch Demencia, Dr. Flug looked over at (y/n) and waved nervously.
“H-hello Ms. (Y/n)! Apologies for that, y-you know how Demencia is.”
The Gorgon simply smiled and raised a hand “it's alright. By the way I have the list of things that you need for the grocery list as well as the chemicals you needed to get for the up and coming ray you are working on”
Dr. Flug's goggles lit up before taking them from her extended hand. “T-Thank you! Hopefully I can get this weapon finished before Black Hat starts ripping limps off.” He muttered. Demencia suddenly jumped up having escaped her restraints.“So what if a few limps get ripped off? That sounds freaking awesome!” She stated.
Dr. Flug face palmed and glared at Demencia “Because the limps he would be tearing off is mine! I kind of need those.” He grumbled. Demencia rolled her eyes and flicked his forehead “whatever, couldn't you like? Grow new ones?” She asked. Dr. Flug and (y/n) both equally cringed before everyone froze in their spot when the echoes of a haunting yell ringed in their ears.
FLUUUGGGG!!!
Soon, with the poor well-being of the doctor, they were sucked into his paper bag and teleported to their Eldritch bosses office.
(Y/n) was always in awe at Black Hat's office. From the wallpaper that has been there for almost as long as she has been in the manor, to the knick knacks and paintings that line the walls like a museum. She has seen things change and move and it was always a hidden enjoyment to see something new.
Sadly the little Gorgon couldn't enjoy such privileges as she fell to the ground, followed by Demencia. As the snake woman slowly stood she watched and heard as Dr. Flug bones cracked and snapped loudly and he was positioned into a bow before Black Hat's desk.
Their boss stood ominous behind his desk, his ink colored back faced towards them as he stared out of his expansive red window that made up the back wall of his office. It always left this sort of creepy red glow on his desk and floors that managed to give everyone the creeps. Slowly Black Hat turned, his visible eye sharp as he looked down at his three minions with disdain. Demenica was sighing lovingly at the eldritch horror, her hands clasped and hearts in her eyes. Dr. Flug was softly groaning in pain as he tried to move himself up after having his bones broken then reassembled. Then there was (y/n), who swiftly fixed her outfit and was checking if the folder in her arms were wrinkled, the snakes in her hair shifting slightly to check on her themselves.
“G-good evening s-sir…what is it you need-”
“The organization has been contacted by a Dr. Cerebus to deal with another disgusting hero who has been attempting to disrupt his work.” Black hat swiftly interrupted, leaning onto his desk and the glint in his monocle shifting devilishly and his smile growing wickedly at the idea of destroying another heroic pest. “Dr. Flug! Demenica, you two will deal with Dr. Cerebus.” He commanded, a snarl on his face as he glared at the two. Quickly Dr. Flug saluted “yes! Lord Black Hat sir!” While Demencia sighed rubbing the ball of her shoe on the ground as she purred out “Anything for you my love!~”.
Black Hat grunted before snapping his fingers and the two disappearing, most likely to the ship to make way to whatever client has requested them. Now all that was left within the office was Lord Black Hat and (y/n).
(Y/n) stood awkwardly, her snakes staring at Black Hat as he sat down in the very luxurious chair that awaited him. “Do you have the documents I requested?”. (Y/n) jumped from the sudden deep grumble that left Black Hat before quickly walking forward with the soft taps of her shoes closing in towards his desk. “Y-Yes sir, everything is right here. I also gave Dr. Flug that list you requested I give him.” She responded, placing the old folder onto Black Hat's desk.
The demon let out a hum as his sharp talons took hold of the folder and opened it. Though as soon as he opened it, his frown deepened when his singular eye saw the two small holes punctured into the document on the first paper he saw.
(Y/n) bit her lip, her small fangs peaking out as she noticed Black Hats reaction. “I-I apologize sir, Rita was just trying to help me and accidentally punctured the document..” she uttered, the snake in question hissing when being called out, making the Gorgon glare at the offended snake.
“Oh shush, I told you not to do it.”
Hissss!
Black Hat just groaned and put the vanilla folder down, leaning back and his eye glancing up as (y/n) argued with the snake attached to her head. She spoke with a hushed tone, not wanting to be too loud. Same with the snake she dubbed Rita, who hissed quietly back at her. The rest of the snakes that made up the Gorgon’s hair stared at Black Hat curiously.
“Enough.” That was all it took from Black Hat and (y/n) swiftly silenced herself and turned herself back towards him. The snake is also quick to quiet and glances at Black Hat. The two almost resembled two children getting caught by their parents while trying to steal cookies from the cookie jar. Black Hat almost found it cute. “Make sure it does not happen again.” Is all he simply stated before the Gorgon nodded, a quiet ‘yes sir’ leaving her lips.
Black hat stared for a while, before he beckoned her closer. (Y/n) eyes widened at the gesture, before she slowly moved herself around his desk. Her sharp reptilian eyes were locked onto his demonic ones as she stood beside him. She seemed stiff, trying to keep her professional facade.
Black Hat gestured to his desk with a simple flick of his wrist. (Y/n) let out a soft sigh before she relaxed her composure, leaning against Black Hat's desk. “How was your day sir?” she softly asked after a good moment of silence. Black Hat grumbled as he reached into a drawer of his desk, bringing out two crystal whiskey glasses and a rather expensive and inhuman looking alcohol. “Long. But after today we will have one less hero in the world so why complain.” He chuckled deeply, his sharp teeth glistening and his eyes narrowing in glee. He slowly poured the alcohol into the glasses, slowly sliding one to (y/n) who now sat on the surface of the desk. “What about you, my dear?” He hummed, leaning his chin into his free hand while the other took his own glass, pressing it against his lips as he drank it.
(Y/n) hummed and fiddled with the rip of the glass in her hands, moving it lower when she noticed her snakes slowly moving down to try and grab a sip. “It has been busy, but not boring. Though I had to stop Vika from biting the phone cord when I was trying to answer calls.” She grumbled, her glare looking at Vika. The snake simply gave a sassy head turn, their eyes closed and a tongue flickering from her mouth.
Black hat let out a deep chuckle, his eyes slowly traveling up (y/n) physique that sat cutely on his desk. His eyes slowly when he reached the Gorgon's soft and elegant face. Even after the centuries together, she hadn't changed a bit. The only thing that Black Hat has seen change is her style of outfits but other than that she continues to be the calm and loyal little assistant that intoxicates his non existent heart.
“Well my dear, it seems we both have had mundane days.” The eldritch stated before raising his glass towards the snakish woman on his desk. She simply smiled in return and moved her drink to gently clink against his before the two sipped the other worldly beverages.
It was such a domestic scene between the two inhuman creatures, and one that they craved almost daily. A break from the chaos and mayhem that Black Hats employees reap in the Manor's halls and rooms. While it was not something completely horrible, work is completed and the Black Hat Organization continues to be on top. (Y/n) has been Black Hats oldest and most loyal employee, and the only one that he has grown a soft spot for.
When the manor empties and the others are out for the day, Black Hat and (y/n) cherish these quiet moments to catch up calmly and let the professionalism fall.
“How are those snakes of yours? When was the last time they shed?” Black Hat hummed, glancing up at the shifting reptiles on the Gorgon's head. She groaned softly and gently pet one of the snake's heads, placing down her glass on the wooden desk with a soft clunk.
“It should be coming up soon, they've been antsy about it.” Black Hat simply grunted in response before he placed down his down empty glasses, moving it off to the side before he moved himself towards (y/n). He placed his talons on both sides of her hips before gently sliding her across his desk to be right in front of his chair. Then the eldritch horror moved forward and stood, his height making his tower above the serpent woman. His eye was sharp and the reflection of his monocle shifted as his smile grew. The lighting from the window casting his face in shadows and making his one visible eye glow eerily as he stared down at the little Gorgon caught in his grasp.
“Well then (y/n). Maybe I can make the shedding process much more…enduring.” He softly growled, the deepness of his voice rumbling through the Gorgon's ears and making her flush and shiver a little. Black Hat slowly leaned down, his body happily taking up the space between her, getting face to face with his little snake. The snakes attached to her head swooned and watched at Black Hat was soon moving his lips towards (y/n).
“Bah bah!”
Black Hat reeled back, standing up straight and glaring right at the entrance of his office. (Y/n) quickly following and turning to see 5.0.5. The blue bear seemed to have been left behind from the mission the other two were sent off to. So obviously he had to look around and see if anybody else was around. Though it seemed that he interrupted Black Hat's alone time with (y/n).
The atmosphere grew cold and eerie as a low growl left Black Hat, his eyes never leaving the bear's form as his form grew unstable, his claws digging into the wood of his desk and his snarl deepening. All (y/n) could do was watch as his shadow engulfed her further, the snakes of her hair curling back nervously against their owner.
“YOU LITTLE PIECE OF!-”
5.0.5 let out a frightened growl and quickly booked it out of the office, Black Hat instantly ready to follow before a small hand on his claws froze him in his tracks. His eldritch eye slowly moved down to look at who dared stop him.
The sight Black Hat saw was (y/n) small frown, her fangs peaking out of her mouth and her serpent eyes staring before him with a slight glow. She looked so small before him, so fragile. Her legs crossed daintily and her soft hands helped her lean back to gaze at him eye to eye. Black Hat let out a growl, the sound of it echoing and ancient before his form slowly shifted back to normal. “You are lucky that I tolerate you. Or I would be doing nothing but ripping every single scale off your head for the next five hours.” He hissed. (Y/n) simply smiled, moving her hands to gingerly fix his tie that got put out of shape from his transformation.
“I know.”
