Just your typical carnivorous sea louse that lives between 550 and 7,000 feet under the sea.

The thing is, this guy ain’t much smaller than Shockirus, the mutated killer louse that attacked Toro Maki in The Return of Godzilla (1985).

Maki Goro

The three different men with the same name, Maki Goro differs from the three different movies the character appears in. In order:

Son of Godzilla (Akira Kubo,1967)

The Return of Godzilla (Ken Tanaka,1984)

Shin Gojira (Kihachi Okamoto, 2016)

An interesting tidbit: Okamoto Kihachi, the man who portrays Maki Goro in Shin Gojira, was a legendary Japanese film director who actually passed in 2005, making him not at all present during not even the conception of Shin Gojira. A nice cameo for Japanese audiences!
