Stunningly Camouflaged Owls Play A Game of Hide and Seek With Photographer Graham McGeorge

Nature has a penchant for endowing creatures of the animal kingdom with special characteristics to survive the selection process of evolution - a concept explored by photographer Graham McGeorge. 

In the series dedicated to the elusive owl species, the rare nocturnal birds are featured to the best camouflage disguises, allowing them to blend in flawlessly into the background. Most of the owls have the same color palette freckled and dusted into their feathers as barks of the trees they inhabit- rough, brown, patchy and sometimes even snowy. Incredible ingenuity of nature and the slow evolution of a species of bird has perfected and focused on defense as a predator, with their ability to hide in plain sight, more than offense allows balance in the food chain to prevail. Enriching their natural habitats by keenly preying on rodents and small critters, the owls are fascinating because of their otherworldly beauty which peers down at you from piercing gazes atop the rafters of seasoned forests.
