how did gray and lola meet and went into a relationship in your hc? did the two genuinely love eachother?

HIIIII okay so uhh

In my headcanons, the Act One of Gray's Brawl Talk animation is his first day actually working for Starr Studios. He records himself in front of the entrance to the location, showing off his portals. It's kind of just a personal milestone recording, so he can look back and go "Wow on that day I finally got into the studio!". However, as you can see in the animation, Lola kind of crashes the video?

This is how they meet. This is his first impression of Lola.

He does not like her.

Acts Two and Three take place later on, during the shooting of Gray's first film a few days later. Act Two is him rehearsing one of his gags and showing off a little before filming starts; in which, again, Lola interrupts him. Act Three is after shooting that day, where he is evading Lola again (hc) but she ends up catching up to him anyway when he tries to start post-shooting rehearsals in his dressing room.

They both initially believe that the other is self-centred, childish, immature, a show off, annoying, etc. to begin with - their relationship at the time is very sour, only pretending it isn't while working together on a set or while out in public (such as at an event).

Over time, however, they're getting unintentionally closer through spending so much time around each other - including out of work, where they'll bump into each other in places like Barley's saloon - and even sometimes helping each other (I hc that Lola can get easily overstimulated by heavy make-up and certain fabrics, and Gray (as a diagnosed autistic) has been able to pick up on the signs and help her to calm down from her overstimulation. Lola has also helped Gray with getting home or back to his dressing room when his chronic pains are acting up). This means that they, eventually - this takes quite some time, start developing feelings for each other.

Their relationship changes from that of co-worker hate and rivalry, to a love/hate relationship. They are both in denial for a while, but, after making out after an argument during their lunch break on a shared set, they come to realise the feelings are mutual and... sort of lean into them? They're both annoyed at themself and the other for having developed feelings, but they still notably dislike the other at the same time.

Due to leaning into this new relationship dynamic, however, they end up getting even closer - and finding out the causes to the initial problems they had with the other (e.g. Lola finds out Gray is a little bit of a show off because he actually has relatively poor self-esteem. When he feels good about something and is praised for it, he will try to milk as much appreciation out of it as he can). Once they start figuring these things out, they're able to try and discover solutions to them, therefore solving most of the problems they had, and balancing out the hate part of the relationship...

... until it got to just love.

They were both nervous and awkward about it, especially given all the hate they shared for the other in the past and all the probably horrible things they used to do and say to each other, but they both came to realise that it was reciprocated? Their new, proper, romantic relationship is one that was never really discussed or confirmed, they both just accepted that it was there and then continued to go about like they were now in that relationship.

They do genuinely love each other, they just didn't to begin with, it took a very long time.
