Episode 11: The After Story (Finale)

He said Yes...well the subs said Yeah, I'd Love To but...

Wataru (AMEMIYA KAKERU) and Minato (YOSHIZAWA KANAME) have both reached that moment where reward outweigh the risk.

Wataru was afraid to venture into a romantic relationship with his best friend and former roommate.

Minato is very matter of fact (in an on the spectrum sort of way) he wanted to start a relationship with Wataru no matter what. This was well thought out spontaneity for him. Yes that is a big oxymoron.

The after story shows their awkward relationship that somehow works, what Wataru saw as they woke up and greeted one another, what Actually happened and sudden Minato back hug almost mirroring what Wataru wanted.

This was a slow burn but somewhat satisfying. Minato never broke character his happiness was always subtle never too over the top. Even when he got what he wanted his mood was tempered with a subdued tone. It doesn't make his love less but it is who he is.

oh, it’s so easy to love Hudson and Connor!

as a fan from the 2020 era, these fantastic actors becoming these characters so well?? that was such a delight!!

and then them having so much love for Rachel’s books and embracing the strong fandom that already loved this story? well that was the cherry on top!

and then somehow beyond that they both are these genuine guys handling this extreme stardom with so much gratitude? that just makes loving this show so much more fun!!

there was a lot that happened in the stage play, but personally, im still here

yknow i was wondering (while a bit worried) how they'd do the relationship between these two, especially considering they mix and match some parts of the story to fit into a cohesive screenplay, but i was pleasantly surprised with what they did with it.

the look in kozue's eyes...really affects me.

I love these three ❤️ They are the perfect combination of friends who made Perry Mason so popular!! I love Perry Mason!! ❤️ I've been watching this show since the 60s, and I love it more and more every time that I watch it. I wish that they still made shows like this.

The Great Laurel and Hardy 😊😊

They first appeared together in a short film called ( Lucky Dog ) in 1921 although they didn't appear as a partnership until a later production called ( Putting Pants On Phillip ) in 1927.

They'd signed with Hal Roach under separate contracts a year earlier in 1926. Hal had noticed an obvious on screen chemistry between the pair and encouraged them to work together which they did creating some of their most iconic roles. Sometimes I think Hal Roach's contribution gets a little overlooked which is why I've decided to include a wonderful interview he did with David Letterman. Laurel and Hardy split from Roach in 1940 but for me Universal had a little too much of a hands on approach. I felt the creative freedom Roach had given them in those early years had gone and it began to show as their later material started to look more like that of the studios than anything they themselves had created. For me the Universal years were a far cry from the heights of those wonderful classics with Hal Roach. I think Stan Laurel himself would admit to this in one of his later interviews.

I decided it might be a good idea to start off with a rare two part interview given by Stan Laurel, it's well worth a listen 😊. I'll also add the classic dance routine from Way Out West followed by Hal Roach's interview , enjoy 😁
