a message to all those lousy metallica fans who boo’d the boys..

remember that metallica asked THEM to come play.

so while you continue to ride out that high of your “glory days” in your garage picking around on a guitar you never mastered remember that they will continue to play shows and have unending support from their fans across the globe. you’re attending a metallica concert and they’re PLAYING a metallica concert. you can be jealous and bitter and boo all you want but you will continue to live a sad life while they continue to live their dreams.

I totally get the desire to mash up your fandoms and I love Greta Van Fleet, but all y'all who say Eddie would have loved them are just wrong.

If Eddie Munson had been a real person who had lived to see today, by now he would be an old white boomer man pushing 60 and they are generally the actual worst about anything that hordes of young women are passionate about. He would probably have called them a Zeppelin ripoff and gotten his old man panties in a twist about them opening for Metallica.

Picture the "Jesus H. Christ!!" scene except he's at one of the Gretallica shows and he can't see the stage because a bunch of crazed young women who came to see Greta are blocking his view.

And imagine how fucking triggered he would get once a chunk of those girls left after Greta. He would be so outraged that someone wouldn't stick around for Metallica that he wouldn't even realize he could see the stage way better.

Anyway, that's my Eddie Munson/GVF mashup. RIP Eddie Munson, you would have been the most cantankerous old fart at the Gretallica show. I'd have loved to work out my daddy issues with you.
