Grusha Injury Headcannons

just a few bits lot of bits about what I think his injury might be and what not

The injury:

So heres my thoughts: this had to be not only a bad physical injury, but a really awful mental one too. Snowboarding was always Grusha's passion, it was his world. You can't take that kind of thing away from an athlete easily.

After some research on common snowboarding accidents, here's what I think:

I imagine he didn't stick a landing, or maybe fell from an edge he got too close to. So he would have suffered a concussion, broken collar bone, a broken hip or leg (possibly in both legs), and here's the big one, some sort of spinal injury, like a spinal compression.

I think it was a compression, because a spinal injury that isn't a full break, can leave the person temporarily paralyzed. The panic of falling without being able to stop yourself, as well as landing and immeditatly not being able to move, would contribute to massive amounts of trauma.

The after:

His injury was likely televised, so he was humilitated by it

He still has a hard time crying in front of others, because he always thinks back to laying in the snow, a rotom drone hovering over him as he cried in pain

The spinal injury caused some nervous system damage, so it is part of the reason he is always so cold, even inside or in warmer climates

He took way longer to heal because he hated going to physical therapy for rehab

When he came home, he threw all of his snowboarding equipment out of the house

He won't talk about the accident in interviews

His Cetoddle acts as a service pokemon for him- helping him walk steadier, easing him through panic attacks and PTSD episodes

Grusha completly shut himself off from the people he was closest to prior to the accident

He gets really anxious in hospitals and in medical situations

grusha with reader that has like a really sensitive body, they hear better than an average person, can see, taste and smell better too, like all of the five senses, and they are especially sensitive to physical touch... i really love this trope a lot

Grusha would be understanding of how strong his partner's senses are. It is likely that he's sensitive to temperature, so I can see Grusha being able to relate to them to some extent.

Due to how sensitive they are when touch is involved, Grusha will be hesitant to initiate any form of affection, and even brief moments of holding hands worries him. Likewise, when he's sharing a bed with them, Grusha makes sure the bedding is a comfortable texture and temperature. He also ensures he isn't overwhelming them with touch. If needed, Grusha will sleep on the couch if his partner is staying over for the night or a couple of days. He's unbothered; respect is a big deal for him.

However, if they want more of Grusha, they just need to tell him. Grusha will still be soft with touches, he doesn't go all in and never will; instead, his touches start slow, building up gradually to ensure they won't become overwhelmed by his touches. Truthfully, Grusha enjoys how they fall apart by his touch alone.

On a less affectionate side, if his partner ever accompanies him to work-related events, Grusha keeps their comfort and safety in mind at all times. If something is too loud, he will escort them out of the area before the sound becomes too much for them to handle. He doesn't want to be around all of these people anyways, so he's pretty unbothered by leaving.

Why do I automatically assume grusha from pokemons’ last name is jaeger? Like someone asked me my fav scarvi character and I straight up said Grusha Jaeger. Like is he related to eren jaeger? Is he secretly a titan when he’s not snowboarding? Why is it so natural when it comes out my mouth?!?!
