The Mist in the Graveyard
"Ah! There goes the mead..." the helmeted man expressed his sorrow as his empty bottle of mead had gone empty thanks to his addiction. The two men were dozing off from their heavy intoxication with mead. The house was a mess and Ellerete was not going to be a pretty one seeing this. She was right to express her anger and threw them off the house, limiting them from their so beloved alcohol. "Unfair!" and whines were heard outside of her home that one night. They slept on wheat with the goats, a very cold and uncomfortable night.
Ellerete couldn't say how long they've been living outside of home, but she was sure that they were going to be limited from their addiction for a good deed. Haar, the dumb barbarian, was not allowed to go to battle without an armor. His purpose was to show off with his great and thick muscles, but the lady said otherwise.
Questing was part of their lives, and Ellerete rewarded them with such dreamy alcohol if they would do good in battle for her. An easy task for the thirsty.
"A graveyard full o'evil n a specter..." The attired man in Whiterun fine armor murmured under his breath. "Easy." Haar then said, the barbarian that accompanied Guardly and Ellerete. She turned to them, her beauty hidden in armor and full helmet. "Don't be overconfident. We're not sure what kind of monstrosity is that specter fighting off—" Her speech was paused then. "This is eeeeeeeeeeeeasy... leave it for us n we'll get our sweet mead back!" The two men laughed, flexed, foolish but confident enough to bring them to battle. It had been so long since Ellerete saw true honor and this was a sight to witness. Not their stinking breath, though.
Ellerete took the lead. Her questing party had its limits and the two drunkards were lusting for their strong ale. This motivated the men to end this quest swiftly. Their route was troubled by bandits but this was no difficulty to Guardly's shield charge and the berserk Haar. These fools had their ribs broken into tiny pieces with her party's attacks. "Ay, is this the kinda job we goin to deal with?" Guardly looked over his shoulder and a chuckling Ellerete responded. "Go forward. Don't waste any time." The trio left the blood-bathed grounds and night was approaching them.
"Man... I'm glad I'm fightin bandits n not Draugrs." Haar said. "What do you mean?" Ellerete then asked as their trip was soon to be completed. "Because I'm sure as hell they'll remain dead n not like these spooky Draugrs that act up what they are..." Guardly and Ellerete laughed under their helmets. Haar questioned them with his gaze but they never answered. "Whaaat?"
The song of battle was ahead and ancient weapons were heard crashing to each other. They were ready for battle once grasping their weapons out of the sheathes.
"Beware." Said a worried Ellerete. She was not sure of what was ahead.
Then, a whisper was heard from Haar. He pointed with his greataxe at skeletons fighting. "Look. Look!" His eyes couldn't believe what he was seeing. Towering figures, deformed in only bones floating above what was a glowing target. They did not wield weapons but sparks emanated from these bony fingers. Guardly gasped out loud at the immense monstrosities. An unique sight, but such was reinforced by skeletons using their best weapons in battle.
"What do we do?" Ellerete was asked by the two men. "We wait. Seek the opportunity. Study the specter's motives and way of battle."
They moved their feet behind large stones, peeking over them to see these magical fights unfold. An endless torment for the living. The man with his greataxe murmured to them. "He's a headless knight... shield, sword... what's he doin?" Ellerete wasn’t even sure herself what this headless specter was doing, but he sure was an interesting subject. Though, as they investigated, Guardly couldn't avoid the feeling of shivers crawling across the spine. His armor trembled from cold.
"Hold your weapon and show no fear to these creatures. A mistake can lead to your death." Her voice muffled in her iron helmet, the two gathered with her for a plan. The bonelords towered the mighty specter, and their impacts were as loud as thunder striking next to them.
Knowing she had little to mention, she charged forward after setting up orders. The Whiterun man and his good friend Haar went for the bonelords, a dance of battle and death posing in front of them. The lady in iron decided to only focus on nuisances like their small army of skeleton archers and warriors. They were no threat to the talented lady. They were only bones for a holy sword.
However, her dear party was taking a hit. The floating giant skeletons smashed against the round shield of Guardly until defeat was an expected sight, but not for long. Haar was there to back his protective companion and cracked their great bones with his berserk style of battle. He learned well from being a brute and a bandit at times, and his style of battle was worthy for Ellerete's coin. These drunk men were putting a great fight, but they were weakened by these overpowering magics. Her hired men put up a good battle and she admired that before the specter and Ellerete erected in battle with their gleaming swords.
With quick reflexes and dodges, Ellerete was unable to show a mistake to them. Her swings were not overpowering them, but they surely were a troublesome sight for the foul creatures. The foes' moves were not so quick and their bodies shambled as they floated lowly. A better reach for their greatswords.
The bonelords faced the truth then. The infinite war between them was put to an end finally as the headless ghost swung his greatsword with Ellerete behind him, following along with her great swings. The three undead lords were put to an end quickly, as their bones cracked and shattered while their souls moaned and cried to be released finally. These devoured souls escaped free when the gravelords were defeated by the odd specter and the mortals. Truly an achievement worth to boast to citizens of Whiterun.
The soul warrior dissipated in the air as his job was done. He had stood there in front of the three adventurers before vanishing in the air. Soft particles of light floated in the air until flying away from their sights and the graveyard. "Solitude, at last. They can finally rest." Ellerete voiced her thoughts as calm was then seen and heard. "Boy, that was a fight, wasn't it?" Haar and Guardly seemed exhausted from the fight, but Ellerete breathed deeply and peacefully.
"We must head back and enjoy of our well-deserved rewards." Thus they had left the thin mist to never come back and then enjoy of their beloved rewards.
