Gung hay fat choi. I've been assured that this is the appropriate thing to say, at Chinese New Year (though I don't think it literally means happy new year). It's the year of the pig. The pig was last, in the race across the river that the Jade Emperor set up to mark time. I'm a dragon; I was fifth. I totally could've won, but I was selflessly helping some folk (including the rabbit, who was fourth) first. Good old Pollyanna Dragon Me. It feels strange that I should be so insulted by this slagging. Can you really be slagged, for being nice? I wonder if there's a bigger celebration for the year of the rat, next year, as it's the cycle beginning again? I want to take the children to a new year celebration, but I think they all may have been last weekend. Oh well...
