If so, what's your fav? I'm new to the fandom but I already love how fun AND gay is this franchise, like everyone is hot and queer for no reason

I've been an RE fan since I was a teenager, it's legit a formative franchise for me and duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude it's a vastly underrated treasure trove of queer shipping potential (and shipping in general tbh). I'm so happy to hear about someone diving in for the first time—I've been on board since before 4 and now there's 9 of these bitches plus side games, it's crazy.
4, 6, and Code Veronica are the gayest ones but 3 gets a mention because Jill is god's gift to sapphics. If you're unfamiliar with CV you should deeeeeefinitely wait until the remake. (You should wait for the remakes in general imo.)
Only bother with CG movies if you're 5+ years into an RE obsession and need shipping crumbs or fanfic inspo because they are all aggressively mediocre.
Don't bother with the live action movies, period. I love the first one because I was a teenager when it came out and they put 2002 Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez in same place at the same, but....ugh, none of them. Not even the new one coming out, which looks great but is in no way shape or form a Resident Evil film.
I believe the most relevant side games are Revelations and Survivor, but I'm behind on playing those so take that with a grain of salt.
Play Zero! It gets a lot of shit but I actually like the team up mechanic thing they tried and overall it's as classic (for better and worse) as the rest of them. And like, look, if a broad-shouldered bad boy with a gravelly voice teams up with a small spunky smart girl I'm going to have the best time regardless but at the bare minimum they each have fantastic queer potential if you're playing mix and match with lead characters across installments.
Have fun in the action figure toybox full of quasi-military heroes all carrying the weight of duty on their backs alongside about nine metric fucktons of trauma, and remember: gay nerds really, really like Chris and Leon (especially Chris), and there are places where they make that known.
