Beginning June 4, classic episodes of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood will start streaming on an official YouTube channel for the first time. The channel launches with the very first nationally aired episode from 1968 plus four additional full episodes, with a new episode arriving every week.
The page will also feature clips, compilations, livestreams, archival footage, and behind-the-scenes material from the beloved PBS series.
Just days after Stephen Colbert launched his own independent YouTube presence amid the ongoing CBS drama, Mister Rogers is also setting up shop on the same platform. At this point, if PBS is looking for its next late-night host, Colbert could be the answer. And wouldn't that be fun? Helping out public television while defying both CBS and a certain orange guy in Washington?
