If @hermockingmouth wants some McNolan, she's gonna get some. Even though I feel like I'm cheating on McVadi. Lezzgo.

It started out, as most things do when they're stumbled upon instead of rushed into, small enough. Cassie saw Nurse Emma waiting at the bus stop in the pouring rain one night, and she couldn't have that. So she drove her home. She found, afterwards, that she'd missed having a girl in her passanger seat, half drowsy from sleep, so pretty and pliant and grateful. (Victoria's shift upstairs was always done before hers, so she didn't need rides anymore).
So... sure. Sue her. She enjoyed waiting around for Emma sometimes, pretending she was charting later than she was, and offering to give her a lift. Sometimes she'd even walk her to her door. Nothing untoward happened. So she tried not to judge herself for it.
Until one night where Emma, more exhausted than usual, had practically slumped against her as they headed to Cassie's car in the parking garage, with a shocking lack of selfconsciousness. Cassie wrapped her arm around the girl's small waist without thinking, laughing breathlessly as she walked them both along.
"A hard one today, huh?" "Yup," Emma grumbled, kind of bratty about it, nuzzling her face into Cassie's shoulder as the older woman opened the passenger door.
Oh. Cassie thought. Maybe she should put a stop to this, after all.
But she didn't. Couldn't. Which is how she found herself, a few weeks later, saying yes to coming up to Emma's apartment. The girl had been going on about her shift, excitedly explaining something new Dana had taught her when they were on the way. But when Cassie parked, she was suddenly quieter, nervous.
No one's been inside, she said. She was really new to Pittsburgh. It would just be nice if...someone she trusted, just, let her know what they thought of the place, you know?
She wouldn've kept explaining, but Cassie shushed her with a brush of her hand on her cheek.
"Sure, I can come up for a bit, kid. I got nowhere to be." Just a few minutes. Maybe some water, at most a cup of tea.
She should've known herself better than that, she thought, hand splayed on Emma's bare back, guiding them backwards to the bed as Emma placed searching, sweet kisses on her lips repeatedly.
Cassie smiled into each one, before pulling away slightly. Cooed softly, as she walked into the bedframe, sat, and placed Emma on her knee, as she gazed approvingly at the receptive, needy look on Emma's face: "Mmh. Such a sweet thing."
She bent her neck to nip at young girl's shoulder, almost catching a light pink bra-strap with her teeth.
