the three snippets I wrote are under the cut so the post won’t get to long. the first two are remotely short, but the third one got longer than planned and I don’t want to post those three separately since they belong together. they’re not enough to be posted on AO3 yet but maybe I will work them over and connect them into an actual fanfic.
1.
“You're still a geek.” Derek said and rolled his eyes while he wiped the blood off of his lips and nose. His hands were stained as well, his knuckles slightly red and torn open. It would take a few more moments for them to heal, longer than usual because one of the hunters had managed to cut him with a wolfsbane laced knife before Derek had ripped his head off.
“Geek power baby, stay strong!” Stiles raised a fist up to his head to underline his statement, grin plastered firmly on his face, his voice light and humours. He leaned over his small laptop, typing quickly and Derek could only admire the long, pale fingers flying over the keypad.
Stiles had hacked the system minutes ago and was currently robbing Kate Argent and her family of everything they owned. It was the first step to payback, the first thing to do on Derek's list. Well, on Stiles' list, really, because Derek's plan had been a lot simpler and only involved one step: Kill the bitch that burned his family alive.
Stiles had convinced him that that was too easy. If Derek really wanted revenge for what she did, not only to Derek's family but to Derek himself, they had to ruin her life entirely, expose her as the psychopathic well, psycho, she was, steal everything she had, and THEN Derek could go and kill her off.
Derek had only hired him to FIND Kate, at the beginning, but Stiles, even though he worked on the wrong (right) side of the law, was one of the Good Guys; and when he had figured out that Derek HALE had surfaced to get the revenge Stiles thought he deserved, he had offered his genius self to help Derek out.

“You put those kids in the system, chances are they're gonna-” Derek stumbled over the words a little and had to swallow around the lump in his throat, “-they're gonna turn out like me.” Derek's voice was raspy and trembled while he decidedly did not look anywhere next to him where Stiles stood, maybe a little too close for their working relationship.
Derek could feel the warmth radiating off of Stiles' body when he crossed his arms in front of himself and breathed in shakily, trying to will the tight feeling in chest away.
Stiles was silent for a moment, holding one of his notebooks in his hands, typing something Derek probably wouldn’t be able to understand, before he leaned in closer. He slightly bumped his shoulder against Derek's side, his breath ghosting over Derek's neck when he spoke.
“I like how you turned out.” He said with steady, sure words. Derek didn't hear Stiles' heart skip a beat and felt warm and cold at the same time; glad, and terrified.
He swallowed, tension coiling inside his stomach as he stood still until a few seconds later, Stiles pulled away again and walked to the driver's side to climb back into the black truck.

Derek sighed, feeling edgy and desperate. He only had wanted all of it to END, had wanted every blue print on new war technology, on weapons especially designed to kill the supernatural, gone so it couldn't hurt anyone else ever again. He had given instructions to delete the entire company's data base and now that was supposed to be his downfall?
Why hadn't he thought this through more? Of course there would be traces, files, of the company's illegal work on the security servers, of course there would have been enough material to blackmail the Argents into hell, or even better, bring them to justice and reach imprisonment for life for everyone who had their hands in the dirty business.
How did Derek not know? He had planned this, all of this, and now the key information to bring down the Argents had been destroyed by his very own orders, taking his only chance with them.
Why couldn't Derek have known beforehand that he had an actual shot at revenge? Why did Allison have to tell him about this now, afterwards, when it was too late? When it couldn't be changed anymore because Stiles was good at his job, so damn talented, and had wiped everything clean, every bit of data gone?
Derek pinched his nose, eyebrows drawn in while the silence wavered between the people in the room. Lydia was standing next to Stiles, her eyes sharp, considering but not giving any of her thoughts away, while Stiles, who was sitting on a chair with his laptop on his lap looked annoyed and as if he was trying to put together a seriously disturbing puzzle. He was also chewing on a pencil in his hand, lips wrapped around it, and considering the situation, Derek shouldn't be staring.
Scott, Allison and Isaac sat on the black couch, the only furniture beside the huge tables where plans on missions were usually put together, looking as ruffled and beaten down as Derek felt. The tension in the room was tangible, a dreadful 'you fucked up' over all of their heads. Even Erica and Boyd, standing next to Derek in front of one of the tables, seemed... hopeless in the face of their situation.
“So, you're saying, that without the files, the Argents only lost their money but are going to be able to recover and continue killing people?” Stiles piped up, and Derek gave him a short nod, his eyes taking in the glasses, the beanie and the ridiculous colourful clothes Stiles' wore, when he shifted in his chair, seemingly at ease, all of a sudden, as if whatever puzzle had just been solved.
“As in, if we would have the files now, theoretically, we could, in theory, take your family down for good?” Stiles' question was directed at Allison this time, who gave him a nod in reply, too. She looked tired and confused and Derek wanted to apologise to her for doubting her for so long. If he hadn't, she might have gotten information sooner, and they could have-
Lydia's voice interrupted his thoughts.
“Stiles,” She smirked, just a little, with too much teeth, some kind of understanding dawning on her face, “When you ripped away Argent's money and cleared out their data base, their designs and files, you weren't supposed to make any copies, you were ordered not to, because that would have been stupid and dangerous because if someone linked it back to you, it also could leave all of us exposed.” Her voice was stern but somewhat light and Derek was confused as he looked between the two IT geniuses.
“No, I promised, scouts honor and all.” Stiles said, one hand moving to his chest, over his heart and his face turned into a mock-serious expression, “That would have been very wrong of me.” He shook his head a little bit, too, as if to say 'I would never, ever do such a bad, bad thing'.
Lydia's grin grew and Derek's breath hitched.
“Stiles,” She said slowly, “Show us your copies.”
Derek's heart dropped when Stiles looked at him, is eyes delightfully bright before he looked around and gave them all a big grin, an adorable grin that for the love of god, caused dimples to appear on Stiles' cheeks and Derek kind of declared his undying love for the hacker right then and there (Inside his head. Not out loud. Because he was a professional hitman and he didn't blush and bubble when cute sexy as all hell hackers grinned at him. With dimples.)
With a few clicks, the monitors on the walls activated, showing a bunch of data packages and Derek wanted to desperately kiss Stiles because being saved like that, getting second chances after he fucked up because other people were looking out for him; it was a raw and new development in Derek's life. It left him breathless more often than he liked to admit.
