Aight, this is just a load of bullshit and y'all know it. Lets get into this shit..
Debatable and also depends on the context. Severus Snape was indoctrinated into the pure blood belief and was groomed into joining the death eaters, a terrorist cult. This can be supported by the fact that Severus was an abused, poor and traumatized half blood, in a house full of rich, privileged blood supremacists, at the height of Voldemorts "reign" and was supposed to live with them for 7 years. He also had no emotional support or any sort of other strong influence for 9 months out of 12, for 7 years. This, believe it or not, will rub off on you one way or another, especially since Severus had to conform one way or another, to ensure his safety and social stability within the house. The Marauders were already on his ass outside the common room, and Severus making himself a target would just make it worse, especially since the Slytherins were deemed more dangerous (I think?). Jkr herself confirmed that Severus didn't join the death eaters out of belief, but out of belonging, given that he was a 17 year old wizard with no economic/financial support, no family name, no emotional support and little to no actual resources. Severus joining the death eaters—especially after 7 years of indoctrination—was very predictable. Severus—according to the 6th book—was also very proud of his half blood identity, calling himself the Half-Blood Prince as a pseudonym. An actual blood supremacist wouldn't act this way. Dolores Umbridge, for example, attempted to hide her half-blood status due to her bigotry and hateful views towards non-purebloods. Severus also told the portrait of Nigellius Black (or whatever his name was), to not call Hermione a mudblood before he could even finish his sentence.
Well, actually, thats a lie. Neville never witnessed the torture of his parents and he wasn't even old enough to remember it properly. So, no, Severus didn't "override" anything, IN FACT, it's extremely common for a 12-13 year old child to fear a cold, mean authority figure and have them as "their greatest fear." Preteens and teens usually tend to be scared and intimidated by a lot of authority figures, especially if they have a personality similar to Neville's. A lot of kids I know feared our mathematics teacher. Does that make her abusive? No. That just makes her a scarier authority in the eyes of the students. It's also very important to note that the boggarts don't show your ACTUAL "greatest fears" (unless you're Harry Potter or smth), it only shows your experienced, more phobia-like fears, not the actual things you're the most scared of! The reason behind this, is that boggarts aren't abstract. They show your experienced fears. Take Ron, for example. His boggart were spiders, even though his younger sister almost died last year. Do you know why's that? Because he never saw Ginny almost die in that goddamned chamber, so since Ron didn't experience it, therefore, it would be abstract! Something the boggarts aren't! Oh my God.
Now that's just straight up a lie. James never really matured, his entire arc is very half-assed and incomplete. We only HEAR about James maturing through biased sources (Sirius and Remus), but we don't actually see any of James's change in the books, absolutely none. There's no canonical evidence that supports his change outside of words said by Sirius and Remus, that even HARRY doubts! "Oh, but Lily dated him, that must mean he changed, right?!" Now, stop being misogynistic and let's not forget that women shouldn't he used as moral compasses for men's actions. Lily dating James doesn't necessarily indicate the fact that he actually changed, as Lily isn't exactly the saint-perfect-angel, either (in fact, shes quite hypocritical and was a bad friend to Severus, the same way she was a bad friend to him). And even if she was, again, who the man is dating doesn't decide his morals or his personality, that's misogyny. We don't actually see James changing, because his arc—again—is half assed and incomplete. It doesn't take a lot of braincells to do that. James changing and maturing doesn't really cancel out the fact that he literally sexually humiliated Severus at the ripe age of 15-16. Of course Severus wouldn't treat Harry like he's an Angel incarnate, he literally looks exactly the same way his abuser does, minus for the eyes! And even then, if James had truly matured.. Then why the fuck would Dumbledore have to take away his invisibility cloak for his little excursions?? (But tbf, even if James DID change, it's much more easier to change and mature when you're as privileged, rich and popular as James Potter, considering he had the emotional support and the chance to change. Severus didn't really have that, given his lack of circumstances.)
"Theoretical situa—" Wrap it up. You're using a 'what if' scenario that isn't supported by canon AT ALL. You're basically imagining a random ass, OOC scene of a character you hate just to make yourself mad and act self-righteous for hating on him 😭 no one in a character discussion will take you seriously if you'll say you hate a character for a THEORETICAL SITUATION. If Severus was an ACTUAL pedophile, then he'd just slap on a red Wing on Harry and call it a day. But did you know why he didn't? Because Severus' entire mission was to protect Harry with his life and to make sure that he didnt die during his Hogwarts years, as a way to repay his debt for Lily and atone for his sins. Perversing that narrative by turning Severus into a creep and watering down his character JUST for his "obsession" with Lily is creepy, shitty and also really fucking weird. Why would you fantasize about a character being a fucking pedophile, you weirdo.
