Dragons Sapphira & Izabella at Drachenmoor

Sapphira stands watch year round at 2333 Crow rd in Joplin year round. She welcomes visitors to Drachenmoor every October with Izabella and a cast of other Halloween characters cared for by the Goepfert family. Sapphira was completed in September of 2018 after 16 months of construction. Her wing extends across the driveway to serve as a gate and during the Halloween season she blows smoke from her jaws. The shimmering scales which cover her body are crushed recycled glass and her belly scales are hammered copper plates. Her daughter Izabella has been a fixture in Drachenmoor for many years and was created by an artist from Springfield, MO. Izabella is covered with welded steel scales and she also blows smoke in her excitement for all the Halloween visitors. She can be found on the haunted trail in Drachenmoor with all her creepy and monstrous friends amidst the tombstones. Drachenmoor is open for visitors from mid October through Halloween.
