6 years late to the party but holy hell those last few episodes of SU: Future hit me like a ton of bricks
more MotU/KGatLW inspired stuff, mainly Merkur and Radon - scientists from the citadel. I wanted to mess with Merkur's design a little, it's funny because the main way I've been distinguishing him from the character he's based on is just messing up his hairline, haha
that, and I also did want to make his Altered Future design look a bit more roughed-up - later on he tends to forego the gas mask for a simpler respirator. He's been altered himself at this point, so he has a better resistance to toxic chemicals.
the hazmat suits are a kind of uniform, but I'm thinking they vary depending on one's specialties - folks who work more with machinery as opposed to chemistry have thicker protective wear. Radon is still an engineer, so they can keep their inspiration's overalls.
