Treated myself to a cute new mug <3
I can sit here for hours
2021 apr 10 // 10 shots of my creative space ❤️
It’s such a beautiful Saturday, the Winter is reluctantly giving in to Spring and we have blasting sunshine and blue skies. The temperature is mild enough for me to have the balcony door open to let in some of that wonderful fresh air.
I’ve been sitting in my happy space and pottering, and thought I’d show off some of this place where I love to sit and play.
It’s tucked away in this corner of our livingroom, it’s small but at least it’s all mine 😊
A set of old books and notebooks, like a ledger and a schoolbook on botanics. Along the wall there’s a small collection of miniature books. The glasses have quite an age to them, a fleamarket find:
If I zoom out a little you can see a golden shelf I added a couple of months back, got it from IKEA to be able to hoard more stuff 😄 The latest addition here is an old number stamp from the 1960’s. Beneath in the middle is my favourite cardbox, got it from the British Library in London a couple of years ago. It contains a whole bunch of reproductions of various old library cards:
Here’s some of my brass stuff, the most recent find is a perpetual calendar. The robot was also bought in London at Selfridges.
I actually got that little bunch of coins last week:
A close up, I just love all the kinds of airships:
Back to the shelves! I adore that pilot pug 🥰 Got it in Old Town here in Stockholm many years ago. And who knew I’d eventually get a real life pug! The mouse is handmade, I bought it from an artist on Instagram:
I actually spotted this airship in a local café and totally fell in love! I took a picture of it, googled it and found the seller in Russia. Now I’ve got one of my own to add that little magickal sparkle to my creative days.
The little figurine is one I made, it’s an assemblage doll made of a thread spool, thimble, bottle cap, a brass bell, and the head of a wee plastic doll:
Love this astronaut, a fleamarket find (there’s a Ken-like doll inside). The wooden book box and the globe book end are fleamarket finds as well:
I got this fake skull (made of resin) off the Swedish eBay:
And lastly this shelf, on the far left is a bunch of books or folders I’ve made.
In about an hour we’re heading out for lunch. My Greek husband found an authentic Greek restaurant that today will barbeque souvlakis outside the restaurant. Of course we have to go and do some sampling 😋
I think I’ll make another book/folder later, I spotted something really interesting on Instagram that totally inspired me. But more about that later ☺️
I hope you have a terrific weekend!
I went to the Dollar Store!!
Day 25 of 100: I unpacked from my trip to New Mexico and cleaned up my room at my Dad’s. I also raised the mattress on my bed by screwing the metal frame in it on the highest level of screw holes (I hope that makes sense). Feeling very good about my space.
